Col was in overnight when he had his op because it was done under a general anaesthetic and his was an afternoon operation. He couldn't pee afterwards and came out the next day with a catheter fitted. He went back the following week for the results of the biopsy and to get the catheter removed. His was a small, "low grade" tumour and it's quite likely yours will be the same. They flush out the bladder with a one off dose of chemo and you will have to return for regular check ups. As Maz mentioned earlier, in some people they reoccur on a regular basis but so far so good with Col.
They will let you out once you are peeing, but they won't wait until you are peeing "normally".
