We are eating later. Prawn cocktail, turkey from next door, sprouts and red cabbage from the garden, carrots and parsnips, pigs in blankets, stuffing made with chickpeas instead of breadcrumbs and low carb chocolate pud with loads of cream for afters. No hassle.
Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on Col' s low carb bread eaten for brekkie long ago after an early start coping with the incontinent dog.

Having had a cooked chicken dropped on me I had carrots and parsnips mashed with butter, cauliflower, sprouts and chicken meat X two for dinner and tea. I think that constitutes a low carb Xmas! It was very good and I never felt stuffed.

I have made up my dinner and the rest of the chicken carcass is on a slow boil with added onion and condiments and later will be some very nourishing stock!

The chicken stock was very successful. I had chicken and mashed veggies for dinner. Then I split the mash that was left, deboned the stock and split it and the veggies between two bowls. That's last night's tea and today's dinner taken care of and no waste.
There was a box labelled 'stir fry' in the wrap up. That is going to figure in the next few days.....

I fried the beef stir fry with added onions and popped the result in the slow cooker with some condensed tomato. Cabbage and spuds from Chawdrey's (I know! But I fancied mashed potatoes.) Cabbage in the slow cooker and dinner and tea were the result with buttery mash. Lovely!

Mashed veggies, stir fry and a steak pudding for dinner. The last of the veggies and the stir fry for tea but with the addition of some small mackerel fillets to jack the protein up a bit.

Steak pudding, peas and the last of the stir fry for dinner.
I fried steak and kidney and onions, popped the result in the slow cooker with a tin of chopped tomatoes, the usual condiments and 1kg of frozen mixed veggies. By teatime it was a lovely stew and will be even better today!

I extended the stew with a tin of baked beans. Half a bowl for dinner and slightly more for tea with the addition of a Duck Breast cooked a la Mrs Tiz. Nuts and a Cox Apple for afters.

I fell off the wagon yesterday. If you remember I promised myself a Xmas dinner of bacon and egg butties. Due to the fact there was a cooked chicken in my wrap-up that plan had to be abandoned but I still had 4 small cheese coated baps in the freezer. On the grounds that I hate waste I had two egg butties for dinner and tea, sorry kids....
On the plus side I slow cooked a shoulder of lamb in cider and by the end of the day it was deboned and defatted and was wrapped up in the fridge. The gravy is in there as well and the fat has separated. Now I need some veggies as soon as the Cathedral of Choice opens. I shall be relatively carb free today at least!

I spoke too soon. I set the new Lamb hot pot in train and as it wouldn't be ready for dinner time I bought a small but very expensive thin crust pizza when I was getting the veggies at 7AM and had that for dinner. The lamb was ready at teatime and is wonderful!

It will be a Lamb Jalfrezi with rice, garlic and coriander Naan tonight. Our Jack is coming round for tea. Went to the Coop for the Naan's but they did not have any pakora's or bahgi's so I will have to take a walk down to Aldi. The curry is bubbling in the slow cooker.

I had the lamb hot pot X two and it is a delight. Long time since I cooked lamb. One of the advantages of getting a wrap up.

We had our cold Chicken Wraps again with Salad and Crispy Bacon. Hubby is rather keen on them.

Last of the lamb plus a steak pudding for dinner. There was a big pack of mince in the wrap-up so I used that and onions for the start of a beef stew. By teatime it was a very good beef and veggie stew which is only going to improve. Had it for tea and today I shall freeze some of it, I was cooking in industrial quantities again!

I made a beef chilli in the slow cooker and had it with wild brown and red rice, (Aldi have a nice selection of rices) and a glass of red wine. We had a small Christmas pudding that needed eating so we shared that and had it with Creme Fraiche. Three 250g portions of chilli for the freezer

Home made garlic bread from a couple of ready to bake baguettes, a side salad of tomatoes, lettuce and red peppers. A glass of red to compliment.

Nice, we had a baked camembert on new years day. I made a chicken curry for tea today, aubergine and green beans curry as a side and something peas.
