Re: GOOD TV
Good Ian, thanks for that news. I watched the last of the series last night. Very good series.... Jimmy Perez and the new one last night are still in store...

Re: GOOD TV
I saw one of those multi future drama teasers a few weeks ago, the ones that have about 3 seconds of each, fairly sure I saw a glimpse.

Re: GOOD TV
Now you mention it I think I too saw a glimpse of it.
Shetland was good and the new Richard Geere drama looks OK but takes a bit of getting into.....

Re: GOOD TV
Stumbled across a new (to me?) channel on Freesat Ch 108 BBC Scotland . Watched 'Still Game' - a rather black comedy with sometimes impenetrable accents. The Sikh shopkeeper used the word 'persiflage. Nice feeling to think I was perhaps the only person to know what it meant. Thanks Tizer.

Re: GOOD TV
Watched the first two episodes of Baptiste this afternoon, very intriguing. There's also some great location shots of Amsterdam, it's been a few years since I've been there but it brought back some great memories. Me an P did a midnight walk around the red light district and found it to be fascinating.

Re: GOOD TV
You can say that again! I saved Jimmy as usual, I shall enjoy him this evening.
Did you pick up the news item yesterday that the original stage prop door that triggered Larry Grayson's famous catch phrase, 'Shut that Door!', has been rediscovered during building operations and has been saved?

Re: GOOD TV
Having been tantalised by various snips from 'Derry Girls' especially the character Sister Michael. I tried it last night. Well - the excerpts are better than the whole thing, and despite a keen interest in local accents and dialect, I found it quite unintelligible for a lot of the time.
My slowly deteriorating hearing is probably also partly responsible for that.

Re: GOOD TV
I'm trying to understand Mother Father Son. Strange jumble of flash backs, arguments and rampant sex. Richard Geere is the only one of the three who hasn't had a romp...... Feel as though I must stick to it now to see if I can finally understand it....

Re: GOOD TV
We gave up on fathermotherson after the first one.
Last one of Cheat last night was good, and I think it's left it open for another one.

Re: GOOD TV
I nearly did that Gloria, I don't know what made me stay.
Last night I watched a very strange programme on iPlayer, BBC Four called 'Arcadia'. Just a series of images and strangely compelling. I think I got the gist!
It's that time of year again and today is Qualifying for the Melbourne GP at noon on Channel 4. I think I shall have to watch it......

Re: GOOD TV
I stumbled across this last evening.Race around the world
It's something different - I kept thinking Anneka Rice should be in it. I enjoyed it.
They went through Baku - which I knew was in Azerbaijan and the birth place of former world chess champion Gary Kasparov, but seeing the architecture of the city was not at all what I expected. Seems the whole city is 92 feet below sea level. Not a lot of people know that.

Re: GOOD TV
Basically I agree Gloria but it's depressing because these things actually happen, funnily enough it's the basic theme behind Shetland as well. (I will watch that on catch up this evening when I am properly awake!)

Re: GOOD TV
Shetlands was good! I left Mother Father Son for tonight. Excoriating review of the series in Private Eye yesterday and I tend to agree with much of what they say. The verdict was 'Netflix light'!

Re: GOOD TV
We caught up with Shetland last night too, I'm glad it ended well...... I didn't take to Alice and hope that somewhere in Fiction Land she disappears from Jimmy's life!
