Co-op are doing the same range and I bought some yesterday as I happened to be in there. Only 1p a kilo cheaper than normal shaped ones but it means they get into the food chain instead of being ploughed in, I'd buy them simply for that reason....
I had steak pudding and two eggs for dinner and very little for tea, not hungry. Filled up with the usual nots, dark chocolate and an apple. The neck collops are cooked, I put the gravy in the fridge to separate the lovely white fat and will debone to meat this morning before adding the veggies.... Worth doing for the gravy alone! Wonderful stuff.

I cooked veggies and started building the lamb hot pot.... For dinner I had mashed veggies with a steak pudding. For tea I had the Hot Pot and veggies. I've added peas to it and it's coming nicely on song! Just the job in this cold weather.

As it was Shrove Tuesday yesterday we had pancakes for tea last night. There was about a quarter of the batter left so I made myself a savoury pancake for lunch today.

I sweated half an onion down in the pan then tipped the rest of the batter in when it was soft, kept it on a low heat until it firmed up so not to burn the onions. Flipped it over and then spread a layer of garlic, basil and sun dried tomato Passata on top followed by grated Cheddar and black pepper. I popped it under the grill to melt the cheese. Tipped it out and rolled it up, very tasty. :biggrin2:

Maz will thoroughly approve Ian. (Or not?)
The lamb hot pot X two for dinner and tea. One helping left for today and sitting in the fridge.
Weighed myself for the Diabetes clinic and was surprised to find I am under 13 stone. I expected worse! This is good, only gained 5lbs over the last few months. (I decided that controlling weight by restricting eating during cancer treatment was a bad idea!)

Told you. :extrawink: :biggrin2:

I made a Jamie Oliver 5 ingredient recipe tonight for Jack and myself.

Chicken breasts with green pesto on top, seasoned then wrapped in strips of ready made puff pastry, basted with olive oil then oven baked. Served with roasted piccolo tomato's on the vine and crushed new potatoes with garlic (sorry Maz) and cheese, baked in the oven. Jamie served his on a bed of green beans, it worked OK with the cheesy potatoes. Sally made a variant for herself but with a salmon steak.

:nooo: :ohno: from Maz probably for the spuds, but it was very tasty.

Can you remember when we had a new (and very short-lived) member who told us that he was appalled that a topic like this could be so popular and it said something about us? What he didn't realise was that we get to know each other so well. You were indeed right about Maz Ian and every time I mention garlic I mentally brace myself!
I cooked Jacks next batch of grilled sausages (If chicken soup is Jewish Penicillin, sausages are the East Hill Street equivalent as far as dogs are concerned) and added the fat and gravy from them to the single helping of hot pot in the fridge left over for tea (waste not want not!) and had a black pudding, two fried eggs and a bit of the hot pot for dinner. Butcher's day today so expect steak puddings, my favourite fruit.
Only one lot of mutton chops left, have ordered another half sheep for the freezer.....

Steak pudding and mixed veggies (a small helping) for dinner. Same for tea but with more veggies and some Heinz tomato soup for gravy, a full bowl. Not much imagination I know but nourishing and enjoyable. What's not to like?

I had a club sandwich at the Black Horse in Skipton. After duties as chief photographer for the WASPI's noise making exercise outside Skipton Town Hall yesterday. That was mid afternoon so didn't really need any tea. We both had a toasted home made scone and a brew early evening.

Image

Good turn out with one woman from Lancaster and four from Grimsby, we had a natter in the pub afterwards. The Grimsby lassies were torn between going to shout a Theresa May or coming over for this demo which they found after Sally posted it on Facebook. They settled on the latter as they thought they wouldn't get anywhere near TM. Went off rather well as an awareness raising exercise. Sally and a few other of the local contingent had made loads of Purple, White and Green ribbons to hand out for International Women's Day. Lot of support from passing motorists on the High Street.

Some more networking contacts made between the women. Judicial review on the WASPI's claims and the legality aspect of the Government position coming up in June.

Too busy yesterday for any cooking. I had a small pork pie about my person and had that with an even smaller helping of peas for dinner. For tea I had the last of the Scotch Eggs with the last of the tomato soup and some frozen mixed veggies. Chocolate, nuts and an apple for afters.

Dead easy, mutton and veggies X two for dinner and tea. Carl delivered another half sheep yesterday, £40. That's not dear. We are OK for stews now for a week or two!

Mutton and veggie stew X two again for dinner and tea. I extended it with peas and baked beans and there is enough for today. Nice timing, butcher's day tomorrow! (Good grub for the current weather!)

Steak pudding and peas for dinner and a small pork pie and peas for tea. I slow cooked two packs of oxtail all day and put the gravy in the fridge all night to separate the fat. I was deboning it this morning at 3AM and it is coming back up to temperature now. By the time we get back from our walk it will be time for cooking veggies and adding them.

I had veggies and gravy from the developing stew for dinner, mainly cauliflower. The stew was coming on song in time for tea so I had a good helping and put the rest of the cooked veggies into the stew for further development today.
