A SOCIETY FOR EVERYTHING
Re: A SOCIETY FOR EVERYTHING
I was only commenting the other day that labour intensive industries that rely on cheap labour may become a thing of the past. In the case of tea it may become so expensive that only second class machine harvesting will be available to the lower orders. We could even get back to the days when top quality tea was locked up and only served by the head manservant. Tea Growing.

You could be right P. But who was it said 'The poor are always with us'. They may continue to be cheaper than harvesting machinery!

On tea, although it might be changes to my taste system, I am finding TyPhoo.Tetleys PGTips and Sainsburys Red Label (that mum uses) nowadays just about undrinkable, or maybe it is the Lancashire Water that I am more used to compared to the London mum has.

Every cup of tea I had in London had scum on top.

The Society of Gentlemanly Pursuits
At Keele University, you can attend soirées which include, among other things, gambling river boat parties, where the Rule of the Gentleman is strictly adhered to.Most events seem to centre around dressing up and boozing. Sounds about right for a student society then.
