Steak pudding with mixed veggies and Colcannan for dinner. Same for tea but with a small pork pie.....
I fed my friends half a bowl of Colcannan each and they said they didn't feel hungry again until the following morning. I have given Lorena the recipe...

I've made us each a mini meatloaf for tonight. Have set them in their little tins in the fridge for cooking later. Not sure what Veg we will have yet (but I bought some lovely Sprouts this morning and I'm sure they will be involved).

Dinner was delicious, though I am still struggling a bit to find the enthusiasm to cook. ( my husband will hoover up whatever I cook...but I just get fed up of putting the effort in night after night, and to be honest, he wouldn't know if he is eating Chicken or Fish or Beef!) it's like "ground-hog day" lately. What we need is an entire week when he needs to take me out for dinner every single night, to rediscover how much better the food is at home. :laugh5:

You would get fed up with eating out Maz.....
I had a steak pudding on its own for dinner and for tea I cooked two Wild Sea Bass fillets in lemon and butter and had them with mixed frozen veggies. Lovely simple nutritious meal but expensive, the fillets cost £6 fresh from the van on the Square. But worth it to have good fresh fish. (one fillet would have been enough but not much point getting fresh fish and not eating it straight away while it's at its best.)

Quiche and Veg...
I have taken Chicken out of the freezer to make Curry tomorrow night. Might do that in the slow cooker if I find I get engrossed in Ancestry.

Good way of doing it anyway Maz, let's hear it for slow cooking at low temperature. I have always fancied having a go at low temperature cooking of meat in a low temperature water bath but to do it properly you need an efficient water bath and a vacuum sealer to encase the meat and spices....
I had steak pudding with a small quantity of veggies for dinner and a full bowl of the same but with a meat pie in it for tea.

Now there's an interesting idea - Artisanal Steak Pudding 'sous vide' Cordon Bleu.

All modern bases covered.

Yesterday I had steak pudding and a small serving of veggies for dinner. I wasn't hungry at teal time and simply had one sausage and some nuts....
I had to look up 'Sous Vide' cooking David, never heard of it. Too expensive for me but I can see the point of it.

Lunch was a shared seafood platter and then I had steak and ale pie with veggies. It was good and I ate too much..... That was enough, tea was 20gm of chocolate and a few nuts!

Back to normal! Steak pie for dinner and a small pork pie for tea both accompanied by veggies. I enjoyed both meals just as much as my lunch the day before.

I had a family BBQ yesterday - all fairly routine. The star of the show was afterwards being invited by the kids to try jelly beans Beanboozled

Luckily I got a good one - the look on the faces of the brave souls who didn't were memorable. I think there's a fair case for them to be made illegal. :laugh5:

Battered haddock fillets.... With peas for dinner and with mixed veggies and chunky chips for tea.
I always remember my mate David Moore telling me that every good hotel in the world sold fish and chips even if they called it by another name. I think he was right. There's something about fish and chips with salt and vinegar that hits the spot.....

I made a Chicken Tikka for dinner, but used a dried spice mix, which I don't usually buy ( trying out new stuff to take in our camper-van). Added the usual shake of Chilli flakes as per my usual routine. Phew! Nearly burnt my face off. We like things hot, but now I am worried I will be up on the loo tonight. ( the weird thing being I only used half of the packet of dry mix as, like I say, I am experimenting....and I wasn't taken by the look of it or the way it responded in the frypan. Looked like some kind of dried weedy stuff that wouldn't break down. I was worried it never eventually would break down in the cooking process and one of us would get this horrible mouthful of the stuff). I won't buy it again ( even potentially pending the results overnight). Too hard to work with....
Feeling ok 2 hours after the meal ( and Dave says he really enjoyed it). Blood Sugar reading 6.5 ( so no bother there), but just expecting the worst about 3am. :laugh5:
....shall I keep you posted?... :laugh5:

Actually...I was fine.
:scratchhead: felling a bit queasy after a bit of Cheese tonight though. I didn't like smell of it (hate strong cheese), but I had a small portion. Wish I hadn't. It seems to be going round and round in my belly. :alvarin:

Small helpings of light grub yesterday. Steak pudding and peas for dinner and a small pork pie and peas for tea.
Today I cook, Colcannan, cauliflower and a large Spanish Onion! (And just for the benefit of Maz. In Chawdrey's yesterday I saw some Garlic and ginger paste..... I got some and have mixed it in with my veggies. I like it!)

Fill your boots Stanley! (Yuck!!!)
We had Roast Chicken/Roast Red Capsicum/Roast Onion/Grated Carrot/Spinach Wraps tonight. Delicious. And they don't muck with blood sugar levels. Washed down with a glass of Red in front of the gas fire. We are shivering here again with a cold snap...
