Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Ah! You've done it again Maz. I am going to make Colcannan this morning and was going to put onion in it but you have reminded me that I have a small but flavourful stockpot and so I shall make onion gravy instead.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
sorry to influence important gastric decisions.
I've made my onion gravy and griddled the sausages early, then cut them into sections and griddled the ends ( then a good rub in paper towel as I can't stand fat....I don't add any fat...I cook them on a non stick griddle pan). Anyhow... Early taste testing gives me a very pleasant sausage ( queue the orchestra and spotlight) BUT hubby says he prefers the "fatty" ones we trialed last week. Damn and darn! The hunt is still on, and now our options for the next sausage trial are Aldi. ( not this week though....I am "sausaged out".!)

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
No need to be sorry Maz. I have made Colcannan and onion gravy and about to have a bowl full of it before going to bed for a couple of hours....

Made a big batch of Cheese and Chive Scones for the freezer. Handy to have if visitors call in for lunch - Tomato Soup and a Cheese and Chive Scone anyone?!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Sounds good Maz but I will pass. Made Colcannan making sure the cabbage was al dente and a nice tasty batch of onion gravy. Colcannan and gravy for dinner and the same for tea with a small pork pie buried in it.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I grilled 3 large Cumberland sausage and had them with Colcannan extended with frozen peas for dinner and tea. Lovely easy grub!

Made a pot of Veg Soup, whilst muttering the usual incantations.
Veg drawer empty and fridge clean, ready for the shopping tomorrow.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Same here Maz. Off to the butcher's this morning and veggies the day after.
I had the last of the Colcannan with some more peas in for dinner. Tea was 200gm of marinaded herring with onion, two boiled eggs, a knob of cheese and a punnet of sweet baby plum tomatoes.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Doesn't affect me like that Maz.
Steak pudding and peas for dinner and almost nothing for tea, I just nibbled on various things including some beautiful cherries......

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Veg Soup and a Bacon/Cheese roll for tea. Very nice ( and blood sugar only 5.8 when taken 2 hours afterward...and that was after a couple of Red Wines too!)
This "Diabetes" thing is a doddle, once you work out what affects your body. ( pasta, rice, pastry being MY enemies - yet I seem OK with bread or potatoes)

Chicken Wraps, with Avocado and Coleslaw. Not testing blood sugar tonight, because I know I will be ok.

Steak pudding and veggies for dinner and the same for tea but a small pork pie. I have started adding froxen mixed veggies to the veggies which are sat in the fridge this warm weather.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Spirallised 2 Zucchinis to make "pasta" later. Also made a Tomato Passata with Italian Herbs ( no garlic, but plenty of Oregano and Basil) . Will make mini meatballs once the mince has thawed.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
You've reminded me that the C-op have ceased stocking small tins of tomato paste... Brexit? I am having to buy Italian Passata now which is more expensive.
Had a small bowl of veggies with more frozen veggies in to extend it on its own for dinner and the last steak pudding with the same for tea.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I had an unhealthy dinner of a few nibbles, not hungry. I grilled Cumberland sausage and had one with veggies for tea. Not very interested in food during this muggy weather.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Our visitors (Stepson 1 and Stepson 2) have requested Roast Spuds, Chicken Schnitzels, and all the trimmings, including gravy.
So I have a big crumbing job to do later. They love my "snitties".

I'll bet you ask them what they want for dinner.....
I had sausage and veggies twice for dinner and tea. That finishes the veggies.....

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
I never get the chance to ask them. After they have said Hello, they ask if Snitties are on the menu. The answer is always yes...then they chant "with roast potatoes?" (Yes) "Gravy?" (Yes).
They don't always get the mushrooms though...
