LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
Couldn’t find a 2019 Christmas ad for Harrods but I saw an article saying that customers have had to have spent £2000 in the last year before they are ‘allowed’ into Santa’s Grotto. I wonder how much they get slugged once they are in there?
Just had a look at your Coca-Cola ad, loved it and obviously for the northern hemisphere. No sign of our ad as yet.

If an advertisement can be 'traditional', That one has it!
Kathy delivered the sheep yesterday so Xmas dinner can be Mutton! She tells me they have a healthy order book for turkeys.....

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
Did my normal shopping today in one of my usual centres, it’s getting too busy for me, not just with more hustle and bustle from people but all the extra stock of goods too. It makes me get a bit anxious so will have to shop more often but for less time for a while.

I note that brightly lit Xmas trees are appearing all over town. Mario's Italian restaurant has quite a nice one.....

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
We were the same Cazza. Popped to the shops to drop 3 bags of stuff off to the charity shop, plus we popped into the bank. Had to park in the overflow carpark ( didn't know they had one until today!).
Who are all these people? And where did they come from? At first we put it down to interest over a new butcher opening today, but his shop was empty of customers ( I felt like popping in and buying some sausages just to cheer him up, but Febby didn't fancy sausages so I didn't go in). Then someone coughed behind us and we high-tailed it back to the car before we caught the plague...

I walked between choir singers and their audience, pushing me trolley, deep in thought and looking down the mall, : Oh dear. I remembered them on the way back and stuck to the other side.

"before we caught the plague"
That reminds me of my friend Ian who warned me the day before yesterday not to come near him as we had a chat. He's got a genuine case of man-flu.....

We avoided the crowds this morning. Home with our feet up having a cuppa by 08.30am after doing a full shop. That's the way to stay sane.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
Got my first card with glitter on it. Designed to fall off and last all year!
Morning walk reveals that the lights on the Commercial Block are still AWOL. The DIY illuminations on Wellhouse Street have an active star this morning but the reindeer and the sleigh are still in darkness.

Mrs Tiz's mother always banned glitter from her house. We didn't dare send her a card with glitter on it!

It's worse than confetti, gets everywhere!
Later, after our walk. Commercial block is still unlit but more serious, the eastern large emitter in the Town Square is leaning and the lights are out. I think the wind has damaged it during the night.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
And then there are pine needles. Which silly bugger dreamt up the idea of introducing such a fire hazard into the house? What's wrong with good old fashion balloons and glued together paper chains. Get rid of all these chinese photosensitive epilepsy flashing lights. Humbug Humbug.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
I don't think so. I can relate to bah humbug when it comes to all these gew gaws with solar cells that light up faintly at night and the plethora of flashing lights all over the town. What happened to sprigs of Holly and Mistletoe and flour paste and tissue paper glueing sessions on the Xmas table? As for the pine needles........

I bought ours...£1.50...at the cheap shop. I buy a new one every year, because our hot winds make them faded and bedraggled.

Mrs Tiz made hers in a group session with my cousin and two of her friends. They did one each. Cousin's wreath couldn't have any of the dried orange because Merlin the dog would smell it and go berserk until he could eat it.

Re: LIGHTS IN THE SKY 2013
My son's Labrador has taken to sleeping under the Christmas Tree among the presents. Hers isn't under there...or there would be carnage. She nudges presents around so she can get herself under the tree but has done no damage at all except some presents will be given with a free sprinkle of dog hair. Son reckons she loves the Christmas Tree lights. She recently went deaf, so maybe the lights attract her for that reason.
We are having her for a fortnight in February, when son and his girlfriend go on a cruise...

You did well - So did Mrs Tiz. I was surprised to see they were £12 each at Aldi this afternoon. and I didn't think they looked too good.
