Can't help going back to an oldie for today's tip. Have all your teeth pulled when you are 23 and get a good set of pot gobblers. They never give you toothache! (My top set is 65 years old, Mr Pinder did a good job!)
Nobody will take that one up I know but in my case it has been a total success, I still eat an apple a day using nothing but my teeth.

A tip. Step carefully and watch out for those unexpected freak accidents that you think can never happen. One of our neighbours was on her usual town walk and stepped aside while someone passed but her foot caught on a tree root and she fell. Hit her face, broke teeth, bruised lips and forehead. A big shock. She's had two trips to the dentist already and it's not sorted yet. All this and covid-19 to think about. It's a bad time to have an accident or get ill. We must look after ourselves more than ever.

I do Tiz. If you could see me coming downstairs you'd think I was older than I admit. Every step is considered, stairs are the most dangerous places in the house, particularly the last three.

Running costs are minimal if you us 2 x 12w LED GLS lamps warm white, will give the same luminance. I am more or less fully converted to LED lighting now.

Me too! Best thing since sliced bread! I'm convinced, especially when I look at my low electric bill. Trouble is I am now relaxed about leaving them on.

I'm moving in that direction to replace my first generation energy saving bulbs which are useless. My kitchen and shed lights are superb, well worth the expense of replacing all of them professionally.

I'm posting this here as a tip rather than putting it in the covid topic. It's an article from the 12th March Guardian drawn to my attention by a science friend in New Zealand. Written by a professor of chemistry and a good explanation of why soap and water are good at keeping hands free of viruses.

That article was very good Tize. I remember precorona-virus being told (by the Hand Washing demonstrators at the Hospital) that hand sanitiser s were 98% successful for most things, but if gastro was involved, that it was always best to use soap and water, and soap was 99% succesful for most things. So always use soap and water first, and hand sanitiser if soap and water aren’t immediately available.

Good article. My carbolic bar soap is superb, lovely lather! I heard someone yesterday commenting on the fact that copper kills the virus almost instantaneously. Very poisonous stuff, I remember a 1930s racing driver dying from a burn from a copper exhaust pipe. But in this case it's the way copper immediately makes an electrical cell on contact with a foreign substance.

My son lost a dear friend he met on his first day of kindergarten, and neither of us will ever forget the beautiful boy. His body could not process Copper. It seemed an unreal thing back then. But yes...it does poison the body. I still think about him. He was a beautiful soul.

Copper should always be treated with caution particularly the verdigris, the green powdery oxide it develops as it slowly corrodes. That's deadly and many have found that to their cost when wire brushing it off copper.

Today's tip. Take ten minutes out of your day to sit alone and quiet in a place where you feel comfortable and at peace. Then review your life and congratulate yourself on the past and the day, what you have survived and what you have achieved. They call it mindfulness these days but thousands of years ago a Greek philosopher said "The unexamined life isn't worth living". He was right.
