The ham and veggies is doing well. I extended the veggies yesterday with swede and sweet potato and went shopping for my next round of veggie cooking.
Ham and veggies X two for breakfast and tea.
I have a batch of neck end of lamb from the Xmas wrap up ready to be slow cooked.....
I had three onions and two tomatoes that needed rescuing so fried a batch of tomato and onion with olive oil and spices...

We had a slight problem late this afternoon, when our guests ( son and girlfriend) decided not to come as they had “had an argument”. ( it happens - not to us - but to son and girlfriend -quite often! :laugh5: ).
Anyway...had to change tac for tea. Not the big cook up that I was anticipating, but one learns to duck and weave in life, so that lot went in the freezer and a made a quick Short Crust Pastry to encase the leftovers of last night’s Chicken Tikka.
Very very nice. No food wasted.
Likely they are scrambling for Uber delivery as they expected to eat here. :biggrin2:

Last of the ham and veggies just made it to two helpings for breakfast and tea.
I had the neck end cooking slowly all day and by teatime I had the gravy in the fridge to separate the fat and the meat deboned and defatted and back in the slow cooker with some condiments. This morning the gravy is back with the meat, accompanied by peas and cooking slowly. Later today I shall cook veggies.

Eggs for breakfast and then a day's cooking. Neck of mutton and pea stew with veggies for tea.
The veggies are carrots, swedes, sprouts and cauliflower.
(It was a lovely big cauliflower Maz but cost £1.70. We don't always get off lightly.)

I cooked the fresh fish that I crumbed and we were supposed to have last night, had it not been for an impromptu invite from a neighbour for a New Years Drink and “nibbles”. The nibbles did us in at that time of late afternoon, so we weren’t hungry when we walked home around 6pm.
Cooked the fish tonight...mouth-watering and perfect.

Not had it yet of course but I am in the making stage. I have some of my butcher Nathan's spicy meatballs in the slow cooker with onions and chopped tomatoes and garlic. A portion of spaghetti beckons with a dusting of cheese. :chef:

Same again yesterday and I cooked a fresh batch for tomorrow. It's maturing in the fridge as I write, just needs veggies cooking to go with it.

Pushing the boat out - our 25th Wedding Anniversary today, so having Pizza delivered. We did think about a pub meal, but with so many strangers in town, we hope this is a safer choice.
No cooking for me tonight! Woohoo!

The last of the last batch of Mutton and veggies for breakfast and tea. I have cooked fresh batches of each. The mutton needs its second cooking today, I've just taken it out of the fridge and put it in the cooker on low. It will be perfect this afternoon.

Despite my intestinal need to return to Salad tonight, hubby wanted Spicy Beef Noodles. I am a compliant wife :laugh5:
