I'm going to give it to you Gloria because vague as your description is, it's accurate. It's a jig for setting the angle of plane irons or chisels when you are sharpening them. Very well done!

There is a place called Stanley in Mo. on the I55. Looks like it could be a couple of farms and not much else. Could that be the connection?
