That's a good one. For some reason the back of my head is saying it's some sort of closing mechanism for a gate.....

I've impressed myself there, my mum had a treadle operated Singer machine and the part looked familiar.

Is it something to do with chimneys - locomotives, boilers etc? It looks like a rail loco's chimney or safety valve.

I was thinking of him too but then realised it was just because he's one of the most obvious and it would probably turn out to be someone less well-known. I haven't searched for him and his logo on google - we'll soon find out from SCG! :smile:

Sorry, you are all missing the obvious one. It used to be the logo for Hopkinson's of Huddersfield who made the best valves and boiler fittings in the world, bar none!
