Good friends of mine from Derby ,Chris Hall (accordian)and Magic Sam Murray (Drums) form part of Cajun Roosters , and now tour the UK and Europe with a Big following ...... Great Stuff..

Derby has been a bit of a Cajun hotspot for quite a while ......
The Swamp Club was legendary ....
R. Cajun are a local band , and The Roosters are an off-shoot.(some good stuff on YouTube , especially with Yvette Landry)
My Old Harp players (Beeds)and Arhtur Billington (ZZ Birmingham) were founder members of R. Cajun. , and they even played twice for Paul MacCartney's private parties and Mary Mac's Wedding.
Beeds is particularly proud to have shared a microphone with Sir P..(he just got up to join in !)
Chris Hall subsequently appeared on P.M.'s version of Brown Eyed Handsome Man (but not sure if it was released , after the TV pre-view )
Summer's looking like it is taking shape as far as Gigs are concerned , but Alan and I are fairly laid back about it ....just going to take what comes , and try to do some recording in the meantime ......

I had the pleasure of being with these guys for a week end in Spiddal in the early 1970, it was at a party at Alec Finns (De Dannan) lodge, Luke brought a gallon of poteen in a plastic container, a good time was had by all.

4 Hours long and including really good early footage , conversations with George Harrison and film of his associasion with Roy Orbison , Bob Dylan et al ......

I don't know whether you heard Wedgie Benn on the Saturday magazine programme on R4 yesterday. One of the main items on his playlist for posterity was Paul Robeson singing 'Joe Hill'. That's why I'm sitting here listening to the album Songs of Free Men again. If you've never come across it find it and have a listen. We forget men like Robeson. He remembered Joe Hill....
