Re: OBITUARIES
Geoffrey Hughes was the lovable comedy actor that we know from Corrie, but he also starred in Heartbeat and The Royal Family. And what a nice bloke he was. He will be sadly missed by all.

Comrade, only just seen your post about David Barby. Such a shame, I learned a lot from watching him on various antique programmes.

Re: OBITUARIES
I think he fluffed his lines ( probably had other things on his mind , the planned script something like, 'One Small step for this man , One Giant Leap for Mankind'. Still planted a USA flag on the moon though.

Re: OBITUARIES
I think the mission amounted to somewhat more than just planting a flag on the moon. He and Edwin (Buzz) Aldrin had just landed the Eagle against all odds amid multiple navigation computer overload errors with less than 30 seconds of fuel remaining. I think "fluffing his lines", if that was indeed the case pales into insignificance against the decade of training that preceded the mission and the mission itself up to that point.
Whichever way you look at it he was a very brave and modest man who never sought the limelight in the years that followed.

Yes sad to hear the news about Max Bygraves. He was a great all round entertainer. Loved all his comedy songs from the 1960s.
