Lets hope so Stanley. Mind you it may be damp but it is a bit warmer here and I swear I can here my veggie plants growing. I made 8 jars of rhubarb and ginger jam yesterday and froze another 5 pounds of rhubarb.

Maz, you must do what you think is right, so long as the average daily needs are met, which includes fluid in food and all drinks, not just drinks of water he should get enough. Just hope he starts to improve soon.

It all sounds good Maz, he's eating and drinking well and his body will be working hard to get back to normal now the acute infection has been suppressed. Nature is wonderful given half a chance!

D appreciates all the good wishes.
Today was one of his twice weekly visits to the surgery for bloods and a check-up. ( which is going to prove very very tedious twice a week if we have to wait an hour and a half to see the Doc, which happened today). Must take some knitting or something! His G P was very happy to see him still ALIVE.
He reiterated that D is not out of the woods yet. Metaphorically speaking they have managed to grab the bug by the horns and wrestle it to its knees, but it has not yet been eradicated. It will gradually yield over a matter of six weeks ( hopefully...if it does not mutate and beat the antibiotics).

Not this part of Brittany, Eileen. It was horrendous rain this morning all the way from the house to St Malo. The Channel isn't much better.

Today I shall be getting things ready to go back to the caravan tomorrow after we have been to my sister-in-laws funeral. She died very suddenly two weeks ago and although she was 85 and not in the best of health, the coronor decided there would be a pm & an inquest. She was in a nursing home and the doctor had requested a biopsy so the coronor thought it necessary (shades of Dr. Shipman). Because of the bank holiday it has taken until tomorrow to have the cremation.
Say only a little but say it well.

Wrap up warm Moh. Funerals are cold affairs even on a warm day. Shopping day today and various small tasks....

Hello Sue, we know how the weather changes so fast here. It cooked us yesterday but wasn't half cold last night. We went to a 50th birthday party and they had a gas heater burning all evening. Today the sky is blue and not a cloud in the sky so horizontal gardening for me today with a book. Eileen

I decided to walk down to Earby this morning as it was such a lovely day. It took me an hour to get down, but an hour and a quarter to get back up the hill again....though I did stop for a drink of water and a banana. Lovely walks both ways though and I saw bits of Earby that I haven't seen before. I came down past Moorhall Farm and up Longroyd Road, but on the way back I walked along the old track that is the continuation of Longroyd Road as far as the back of Sough Mill then cut up towards Tunstead and Heads Lane.

Sounds lovely.
That is probably what Alfie had in mind when he set off last week ( "I will just pop down to Earby because the walk will do me good....")
I must get out for a walk today and take the dog, because it rained all day yesterday and we both missed out.

Spending the day on the motorway, time to take Ruby back home to Stratford. she's been with us for the week. Good day for it as long as everyone behaves themselves on the road. Should be back after tea.

(I know Maz, but Stanley got a bit muxed ip.)
Me....curry my cockerel? Must have been joking! We have bought 4 little Black Pekin bantam girls this morning as company for Jedward, the 2 tiny bantam cockerels that were dumped on us a while ago. One of Jedward (Known as Lesser Jed) can't see very well and gets picked on by the other and his lady wife, so he now has a home of his own and one of the new girls to keep him company.

What will your first project be Sue?
Today I have mainly been cleaning out the hen house, cutting the grass and doing some strimming. It's been sunny most of the day, but quite cold especially this morning. It wasn't until after lunch that I felt the need to do away with my woolly hat. I've had a soak in the bath, poured myself a glass of wine and now I'm tempted to wrap up warm and sit out in the sun. Cheers!
