Introductory ReadMe

Post by PanBiker »

The Lancashire Textile Project 2013 is a completely revised version with additions to some of the transcribed texts from the original taped interviews. A major change has been the insertion of over 850 images directly into the relevant areas of the texts. It was felt that this enhancement would make some of the more technical procedures of the industry easier to follow for those wishing to learn from the project.

All of the project is now available for download. The transcripts are available in MS Word (97-2003) .doc format. These files will open in all versions of MS Word produced since 1997. Images are available to download as a separate package or as an integral part of a complete package of the whole of the LTP2013.

The LTP section of the site is ReadOnly, ignore any of the Locked flags that you may see on the sections and topics. Logging on within the section is not required to browse the topics.

Please read the introductory texts within the data which cover the copyright status of the material presented and have tips on how to get the most from the project.

A couple of features you may find of use, both available from the information bar immediately below the header banner when viewing a topic. The first is a printer icon, this will produce a print friendly version of the page you are viewing. To the right of this you will see a symbol of the letter A with up down arrows either side of the letter, clicking this will rotate the text size on the page through three different sizes.

Please feel free to post topics in the comments section for any feedback or questions you may have about the project or the textile industry in general.
