Re: Photos
Hello Zeke, nice to hear from you again. Have a look at this thread that I put together when we were all thrashing around on the new platform. It's easy once you have done it a time or two. Post any questions or queries and we'll endeavour to answer them.

Re: Photos
Welcome back Zeke. Follow Ian's tips, looks complicated at first but once you have cracked it it's easy and quick. One thing I always do is resize the image to 800dpi maximum dimension and have them ready in a file dedicated to OGFB pics. This makes posting a lot easier.

Re: Photos
Zeke, here's a step by step.
To upload a picture to the gallery:
Navigate to the category and album where you want to upload your image.
Click on New Image, click the Browse button and navigate to where you have your image stored on your computer.
Select the image to upload and click Open, this will add the filename and offer another Browse button.
If you want to add another image repeat as above. When finished adding filenames, click Continue.
You will get another screen and you will be given an opportunity to change the image name and add a description to each of your images if you wish, (a good idea as it makes searching for the image easier).
When you are finished, click Submit.
Your image(s) will be uploaded to the gallery.
To embed images in posts
Navigate to the image within the gallery, click on the image title (not the thumbnail), this will open the image in a viewing window as in the screen shot below.
Select and copy the Image Url string.
In the edit box of the post that you wish to insert the image
Click on the icon above the edit box with the little mountain on it (Insert Image).
This will open a Enter a Link for Image box
Paste the copied URL string into the box marked Enter a link for image and click Insert into message.
The Image URL will be placed into you post at the cursor position and will be displayed when you preview or submit the post.
There is no need to resize your images before uploading, the site settings will cater for any variations.

Re: Photos
Thanks very much for providing me with these instructions. Funny! I had no problem posting photos to our facebook page, but was totally lost trying to submit pictures on this site. Anyway, thanks to you, I'll be able to post some photos. Much appreciated.....Zeke.
Re: Photos
Thanks much for the info. I posted a photo of my wife and I in the city of Bangkok, Thailand.
Re: Photos
I think Zeke's photo is of Wat Arun across the river from Bangkok centre. A fantastic building absolutely covered in carvings. Its over 25 years since I was there but my memory still holds these pictures.

It is Stanley, that man is one of life's characters and couldn't be a better neighbour. We found him sat outside our house like that---absolute nutcase.
