Yes Tizer I mean the surname, maybe it originated there. I knew there was a place called Broadway in the Cotswolds, a lovely village.
Say only a little but say it well.

Thanks Moh. My sister compiled it from info she and I both had. She also read a beautiful tribute at the funeral today. Bob and I have just got back home, we need a chill out night. It was a sad yet happy day. It was lovely to see so many friends and relatives. Dad would have loved it. He truelly had a good life. Back to the house on Sunday to wash up cups etc, and perhaps a quiet moment.

Take it easy, no rush. When you are quiet reflect that many people are remembering your role as a kind and attentive daughter.

Bob and I had a French lesson this morning for two hours. This afternoon we tootled over to Burnley to tidy up the house to find my brother had done it and removed some unwanted furniture as well. That was so nice of him. On the way back we went to Gordon Riggs to buy some tree stakes for France, and before we knew it, it was 4.00pm. I have just had really long phone call with a friend who has been visiting her daughter in Bangkok for over a month. We had a lot of catching up to do

Now what shall I do tomorrow?

Today I shall venture into the polytunnel and make a start on spring. I have some broccoli in there ready to pick and there is garlic that I planted in November looking good. Time to put a few broad beans in and start sowing cauliflower. The hen & duck houses need a good clean out and Col will need a hand getting some sheets of plasterboard into the house. The final bit of wall inside getting dry lined and insulated..whoopee.

Today is a meeting day. First, I will be at the planning meeting for the Centenary celebrations in August for the ILP Clarion House on Ginny Lane. Just about to set off for that. A bit of dinner, and then our first meeting for the Barlick War Memorial Group at Rolls, lot's to discuss in both camps.

Today I have started well I have answered my emails, I have ordered a book online recommended by Stanley, I have booked our hotel accommodation for two nights in Brittany, before moving to our holiday home in Le Pouldu (site doesn't open until 01.04.2012) for at least 3 months. I am now leaving my computer, having breakfast with Dave then if the weather holds will complete tidying up the garden.

Wendy that sound very strenuous, although I admit our imminent trip to France is to do the same. Her in Rochdale we never did finish the winter tidy up, I may do smoe today if the sun comes out. otherwise I am going to tackle the spare room and try and uncover all my Art stuff from underneath Dads papers, boxes and photographs. My spare bedroom has been under almost permanent occupation since the end of January, and I usually store some things in there. Now is the timw to move them back.

About 4 weeks ago I received a large wooden box from a cousin in Tasmania. It is the actual box the my 3xs Great grandfather the Rev John Maylard used on his ministry travels from about 1835 until he 1880s. I will treasure this box. It is quite large, sort of a small trunk and I intend keeping all my family memorabilia in it, neatly packaged and labelled for the next generation to inherit. Its going to be a mighty task but will certainly clear some space in various rooms

Today I'm recovering from an exciting night at the village hall here in Somerset - a puppet show and presentation of old cartoon films. We were treated to Scallywag Puppets for half an hour and then one of our village friends showed old original cartoons. He collects old films and restores projectors and has some precious and fragile film. We saw several Felix the Cat cartoons starting from about 1920, then some old Disney originals such as The Old Mill and Ugly Duckling. The front rows of seats were filled with kids who had great fun and there were plenty of squeals during Scallywags when a brightly coloured spider puppet dropped down and danced to pop music on the little stage. Then another dropped, and another until there were four, all accompanied by squeals of delight! Each `spider' has 10 puppet strings attached, 8 to the legs and 2 to the body. They dance in synchrony, controlled by the strings attached to one wooden panel. All the puppetry was done by one lady who was a bit tired at the end! We were the biggest audience she had performed for.

Sue, there you are, an attentive daughter!
I shall be carrying on with a text I started yesterday. My mate Daniel asked me to contribute to a book he wants to publish on his activities in the Pendle area from the mid 1970s so I'm telling the truth about him.....

Working. Looks like I might be getting drawn into the national debate on adoptions.
I expressed my view in a national forum about Ofsted's inability to inspect adoption services to the extent that the new mandate requires. I've now been contacted by a representative of the Association of Directors of Children's Services wanting a discussion with me. Nolic
