This topic has definitely gone 'off piste'. What has happened to all the characters we used to know and 'love' and the lights !!
Say only a little but say it well.

It's a sign of the times Moh. Nothing has been heard from Mrs Trelliss or Bob for many months. The last news I had suggested she was shacked up with him. Perhaps other things are attracting her attention now, she still writes regularly to 'I Haven't Got a Clue' on BBC R4.
Brilliant clear sky last night but all I could see at 21:30 as I did my regular scan was more planes than usual.....

Plenty of lights in the sky this morning as the Geminid meteor shower give us a firework display.

I soak the fruit in brandy for 24 hours before I make the cake....makes it very tasty and moist without the need for further lacing. Oh dear, you've started something now Marilyn, I'm feeling a distinct urge to go out and get a Xmas tree.........

Ha ha..oh Wendy...I can see you now..running off down a misty hill ( to buy a tree)...with layers of alfoil helmet peeling off in ribbons and trailing behind you...Col scratching his head and wanting confirmation from the ponies that it wasn't something he said that completely unhinged you...( and thinking it a pity you hadn't actually put clothes on before you went a bit doolally). These folk who live in the mist, can be a bit " different" I believe.

I think I have to offer a word of warning to our antipodean friends in case they visit in the future. This is what happened to our Australian Barlickers after that Elf had interfered with their heads, they must not have had enough foil.

This is just wrong, they were running around all over the place.

Not related to "Eedie" Barlow? The midwife?
Mother always recalled Eedie Barlow...
I went to visit her little display in the library one year. (My arrival would be in that book of hers). She may have even recorded that I was born sideways. That sounds like me...always bucking the trend.

The same Maz, only one Edie Barlow, deliver me too on a Saturday afternoon on the settee in the front room. I think I arrived more conventionally but apparently I had furry ears! and a lot of hair, Nurse Barlow heard to exclaim, "goodness me it's a rabbit". I wonder if she put that in her book?

Edie was a legend, particularly for demolishing people by pointing out that she brought them into the world. She was succeeded by Nurse Hunt who delivered Janet at home and I remember getting a dressing down when I said that I was struck by the similarity with calving cattle.... I remember I had a fire going in the incinerator in the orchard and she kept giving me newspaper parcels to burn.....

Panbiker's photo of the two Santas is asking for a caption...something like "I know, I know, but the butcher assures me it's a turkey".
