Tales about Barrie King

Post by Twoguysfrombarlick »

Not sure if this post is in the right post or not since first time using this website if not hopefully someone can direct me! I was hoping that some members on here would remember the local postie Barrie King who was often seen wandering about the town and if you would like to share your stories of him with me. I'm his grandson Kevin King (Formerly Walton) and would love to find out if any of you have any great memories or recollections with him. Thankyou!

Welcome to the site Kevin, nice to have a proper name! (Pop it at the bottom of each post so people remember it...)
I remember Barrie well but beyond greeting him know nothing about him.....

Hi there! I know he was much loved by fellow barlickers but as he unfortunately passed away in 2008 I have family in barnoldswick and am always bumping into people who knew him, so would be nice to find out some tales from people on this site about how they knew my granddad exc!

Hello Kevin and welcome to the site. You may like to try one of our local Facebook sites as well with your query. We have one for stories and pictures about Barnoldswick and Barlickers which is particularly popular having a wide range of local people posting on the site. You can find it on this link:

Barnoldswick & Barlickers then and Now

I have an admin role on there as well so If you post your query I will see that it gets added to the site.
