It's good to have you back on the bridge again, Cap'n. Left-hand down a bit, please. Whoops. Bang. Anyone remember The Navy Lark? :laugh5:

Not been online much recently, a house full of relatives, trips out and loads of washing. Glad you are feeling better Stanley. The weather here has been rather cool for the time of year, 19 degrees with a cold wind but the forecast is improving, back to the mid 30 s next week.

Could be Sue, almost certainly the origin of the summer cold but that's gone completely now. As for the back pain, who knows? My back has been compromised so much over the years that it is delicate. Perhaps I simply wasn't careful enough......
Well done Wendy, absolutely nothing wrong with that! (Did you get the lads back first?)
I shall be taking it easy and doing a lot of thinking about housing......

I'm writing a series of articles on housing and have managed an article a day, I shall be writing another today and then more reading!
Like many ladies I know, a change of dress can cheer me up. I'm feeling a lot more positive than during the worst of the storm, nothing like pain to depress you! Part of the trick is to throw that off and this morning I decided that a change of dog-walking or 'on the town' dress was called for. A much underused item in my wardrobe is my A2 leather flying jacket, the silk lined one used in bombers, not the shearling lined version popular with fighter pilots. (LINK)
I had a fancy for this while I was in Northfield and consulted my mate Bob Jacobsen who was a tail gunner on B17s. He pointed me at a firm called Berman's in Twin Cities and I was lucky enough to find an A2 jacket on sale at $95. Bob approved it and declared it the genuine article. It's a lovely jacket but underused, I call it my Indiana Jones look and got it out this morning, it deserves some use!

Looks well on you Stanley.

I'm continuing to look after myself and yes, walking is no problem. The back pain is slowly improving. Lots to be thankful for! Self timer on camera.....
I'm writing a housing article every day so I'm not fretting because I'm not doing anything. I even had a look in the shed but beyond a bit of light tidying up, did nothing significant. Onward and upwards! Excelsior!

I'm recovering well Maz. Funnily enough, even in the worst of the storm, banding has been no problem, in fact it relieved the worst of the pain.... Funny things backs.....
