Pulling cables from the cellar to the bathroom, 2.5mm t&e for the radial for the washing machine and two for the CCTV cameras at the back of the house. Should have the washing machine installed over the weekend then the dishwasher can go in the kitchen, hurrah!

This morning I am going over to Claire’s to show her how to use her new overlocker machine. No plans otherwise, apart from doing some ironing.

Waiting for a call to go and pick Sally and Ruby up from the station. We have Rubes for next week and probably the Sisden pair as well at some point. Kitchen is bottomed all washing up sorted, my tea is in the fridge, (chilli and baked potato, cooked yesterday). Two further portions of chilli in the freezer for no need to cook days. Will need to do a small shop, ham and a small chicken I reckon. Silsden contingent plus Jack and Jemma tomorrow for tea, all kids and grandchildren. Only three generations as I'm not old enough yet to have four. :extrawink: :biggrin2:

I’m pretty sure we have finished the painting. Furniture still scattered about, as the floor tiles take a week to fully cure. So far, we have been very good and haven’t stepped anywhere we shouldn’t.
I even got some ancestry done, but now it is mid afternoon, it is too hot to do anything except drink lots of cold water and watch crappy movies.

A quick snap taken this evening whilst cooking dinner. The house was opened up for strong sea breezes...furniture placed to remind us not to tread on it...

Like the floor, very nice Maz.

Our neighbours came round yesterday and we had a very pleasant hour or so. Kristina brought a cake , which was very nice of her. We chatted in general about our respective backgrounds, about their business, and the history of their new home ( we have known all the owners over the years). They were interested in the various alterations and additions we have done to ours . There are 4 bungalows like ours in total on our estate and theirs is mainly unaltered. Three of us have had big kitchen extensions and I think that has an appeal for them, we have added extra rooms , conservatory and extended the garage . They are a very pleasant family.

I shall be doing a bit of cooking today, a batch of soup for lunches this week and another ‘special’ soup as my contribution to New Years Eve meal with friends. After that I will be cutting out a dress for Erin, I never can resist a request nicely made by one of my three lovely grand daughters.

What request has your grand-daughter made this time, Sue? Did it come with a sketch?

I have another article in mind for today.
Enduring the interminable 'digest of the year' offerings we will get today. I noted yesterday that the BBC were so short of news (starved of politics) that they are recycling pieces they did earlier. They have had it far too easy this last year. Now they must get their imaginations in gear again.

6pm here and heading up to the New Year. I shall be in bed by 9pm, as usual, as it has been a long day. ( I was up about 5.30 am)
So I wish you all the happiest of New Years.
Don’t drink too much, and don’t wake up with any regrets!
Apart from that, knock yourselves out and have a lovely evening.

Ha ha Maz. The fabric was provided, and the pattern is one I have made for her before but she has grown put of, 5 years olds so quickly become nearly 6 year olds, and oh IT MUST HAVE SLEEVES AND A RIBBON ROUND THE WAIST! :laugh5: the pattern is a very easy one to make, thank goodness

Today will therefore be sewing, and then off to friends at 7.00pm

Happy New Year to all. Jack and I let the new year in in bed as fireworks exploded and woke us both up! I saw Muthomi's father and mother, an aunt and some cousins at Jess's last night. We had a great time.
Today will be a recovery day and some writing.
