It's worth travelling to Barnoldswick and having a look at the Vicarage Motor Company, on Skipton Road. Sean will do you a good deal...

Will have a nosy online, we are looking for a convertible full 4 seater. Our write off was a Volvo hard top. We would like something similar but a lot newer. The registration was 06 JNX, or jinxed as we called it, because it was :laugh5:

Ended up buying a 1 year old car Audi convertible from Motorpoint (26 miles on the clock as it was an ex showroom model and 30 months of its 36 months warranty left too ). Far more than we intended paying but the nearest in size to what we have lost, but with all the advantages of a new car. It was £17000 less than list price for a new one which we definitely couldn’t afford. Its only money !! We weighed up all the various options we found through out the day in different places / second hand car dealers and this was the best deal. They were also the nicest salespeople. Some of sales people were just plain cringeworthy the Customer service training badly needs attention! So few of these cars have space for a spare wheel which we think is essential when we are in rural France. We had to use the one in the Volvo three times in the last two years. The tyre repair kits are no good there as there are few garages around that we can use to get a tyre repaired properly.

We are surprised too Stanley, but needed to get it sorted in the next 3-4 weeks before we go to France. We need to keep the mileage down on my car because we bought it on a PCP plan with a limited number of miles in the first three years, when we can pay it off or exchange it. And yes it is a bit posh Stanley, quite a surprise to both of us, but we are hoping that by buying what is in effect a new car, the huge repair bills we have been having with JNX will not reoccur.

Lunch with my sewing friends today, then I have my last hat to finish for the Todmorden theatre group . Pilates and yoga tonight.
Take care Stanley, rest up.

I think we are off to look at new kitchen sinks and tap today...hubby mumbled something this morning about it.
New dishwasher works well. I think we have tried every setting now ( felt a bit of a dill when I realised the “eco” setting does everything the other settings does, but doesn’t dry the dishes...if only they made the written instructions easier to comprehend)
I pointed out our old microwave was looking rather yellow with age alongside all our new gleaming white stuff. Possibly a step too far to say that, if his look was anything to go by! ( but I must plant seeds now and then) :biggrin2:

Wednesday today, you should start feeling a bit perkier Stanley.

Wednesday is a bit of a blank day for us, we do different things depending on the weather and our ‘mood’. This morning we may go for a walk if if it doesn’t rain, this afternoon i will try my shirt collar again, as per a you tube I watched yesterday. Maxine has been ill and has not yet sent me the tailoring instructions she was going to send. Pilates this evening. Perhaps a bit of book writing sometime during the day.

I have been so (sew) busy making the hats for the theatre group I haven’t done much writing recently. Its tough going organising my thoughts, looking things up, tidying up loose ends etc. Next week we are off to London for a few days to see a show ( my birthday present) and do some research at Kew and Greenwich archives. Hopefully some more of my little jigsaw should come together

Carrying on with the same medicine! It's working, drinking lots of water and sleeping isn't bad therapy.

Art this morning, this afternoon I will be writing some of of my book I think. Yoga may be cancelled tonight as my teacher is on holiday. Good job, my body aches after a couple of intensive sessions of pilates. The class I am in is now an advanced class apparently! They have reorganised the groups so we have a new name. Same teachers but harder exercises. I ache from the tip of my toes to the tips of my fingers, every muscle and every joint. Bob has no sympathy, says it's self inflicted :laugh5: :laugh5:

What happened to my missing grandfather. Since we last went to Greenwich and Kew a letter has surfaced with dates and destinations of a ship he may have been purser on. Greenwich archives tracked down which shipping line it could have been. The staff archives for this line for the correct period are at Kew. Fingers crossed for progress.

We decided to keep our kitchen sink and buy a sexy new tap. Dave installed that yesterday and the tap and I are still getting acquainted.

I have a sexier one in the bathroom, where the bath fills from a lovely spilling waterfall thing. I have a bath in my big “egg” bath every morning. It is when I sit and think and do my spinal exercises.

A bit of light cooking, Jack's mince and a steak pudding are on the stove. I had a bit of a set back yesterday in recovery from Monday but it is over I think so I shall be back in bed early.
