Bottoms up, I would have preferred the sketch to be on the other side of the cup.

Oh dear... Do I have to get the whip out?

Now that you’ve all had a sleep after your awful day yesterday , any ideas on this object?

Lack of response could be voting, Xmas shopping, the weekend etc. Maybe none of those things because people have posted everywhere else. I’m a bit miffed actually, but let it go.

For God's sake tell us what the answer is Woman! The reason you haven't had any response is because We don't know!

Think iconic English characters like Wombles...actually more Bunnykins if anything remotely near...then think Australian.
(Sorry Cazza if I've said too much, but my sides were "busting".)
( and Wombles were probably not a good choice of explanation)

I've got it. Artist Li Su Ping of Taiwan painted 2010, imported for 50 cents each. Now considered a collectors item since there are only 2 million on the market.

Well, I have cheated and looked for Australian illustrators on Google. I've never heard of the artist or the babies! Shall I keep quiet or tell you what I've found?

Oh the pressure
May Gibbs (Cecilia May Gibbs MBE) was one of our most treasured illustrators, artists, cartoonists and children’s author. Her work is still much loved and she is best known for ‘gumnut babies’ and the children’s book Snugglepot and Cuddlepie.
May Gibbs is actually English, born in Kent 1877. Her family emigrated to Australia in 1881 and she returned to England (London) to study Art.
Her family settled at The Dunes in Perth.
Gumnut can refer to the hard woody fruit of trees of the Eucalyptus tree.
She died in Sydney Australia in 1969

I noticed that May Gibbs was 10yrs younger than Beatrix Potter. I wonder how it would have been if May Gibbs had stayed in England and they were having their books published at the same time.

No shame for us Poms, it was a specialised subject. How many Poms can say where Dog lives and what the name of his master is? Aussies hold back!
