Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Love it, we tried to buy one new and couldn't get hold of one. Much in demand.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I was lucky Gloria, 'N' Registered, cost £4,800 and that was what I sold it for much later, they were still in demand! Never regretted the investment.
Now, the question, come on, christen it!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
The 'piggy back' looks a lot like the Austin Westminster I bought in 1966. Similar cars are often seen in the old black and white films on Talking pictures TV. It had a 3 litre petrol engine, but I was between postings, and about to go to Germany where petrol was almost free, so not a consideration. ![Smile ](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I think he's right as well Gloria, it still used the power unit of the Leland Comet and I always assumed it was street legal as it was in use for a fair while. When last seen it was parked in the yard of the out barn above Marton Hall Farm on the Barlick road. Definitely a one off!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
I came across this strangely named place in my travels. Any idea what that name is and where and what the building was?
[I say was because since I encountered it it has been replaced by a new building.]

Good observation. You deserve a clue. Try 19th century New York.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
It's the old Manhattan House of Correction and the popular name for it was 'The Tombs'. In my days in NY it housed the Night Court as well. I bet that's still running and if you are ever in NY give it a try, all human life is there. Ethel took me there and it was a revelation, everything from Ladies of the night to murderers.
