Sorry I didn't respond to your firefighter Cathy, I just thought "yuck" and decided not to make any comment in case you were offended, but now I have! :peace:

My problem is, that I have always been attracted to older men! I am not attracted to these young guns. But he is just what I want to carry me out of a fire!

No I’m not for the younger ones either,
I just think the whole thing is in the spirit of good fun.

The first thing that struck me about that image was I wonder how many people realise that far from being cuddly Koala's are on the whole bad tempered little sods!
Cathy, you are right, to many it will be just a bit of fun, eye candy for the dreamers. To others it is depressing, I always remember what Lee Trevino said many years ago when he failed to make the cut in a big golf tournament, "I see these flat bellies sending the ball further down the fairway than I can and the message is clear, It's me for the Seniors next year!"
So you keep posting the eye candy and allow us crumblies to have a jaundiced view....
What grabbed me was a combination of Tier 3, Brexit and the fact my grand daughter and her husband have probably contracted Covid. I have posted on these elsewhere.

I discovered today the answer to something that had puzzled me for a little while.

Samuel Coleridge Taylor is not the same person as Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Just thought I'd share that with you all in case you had a similar gap in your knowledge.

Well done David, I daren't say anything 'mates rates' though. At the moment under the regulations (or what they were, they change so fast) a person can spend an evening in a crowded pub but not an hour alone socially distanced with Susan in her consulting room. Daft I call it.
Maz I would feel the same if anyone damaged my anniversary edition NAAFI tea caddy.
A question, is anyone having the same problem as me, if I type at my normal speed the text in my reply suffers multiple drop outs but if I type slowly it is fine. I only have the trouble on OG all my other programmes are OK.
Later, I noted last week that the obligatory tins of toffees that always signal the start of the Xmas frenzy had arrived in quantity in the Co-op and this morning saw that the conical emitters have been erected on the lamp posts down Skipton Road. Xmas lights in October? Have they no shame?

Image

Lara sent me this pic this morning from the Pilbara. It's taken from the top of the primary crusher at the mine she is based at. It feeds the conveyor you can see stretching away into the distance. It gives an idea of the scale of operations up there.
You know what I thing about extractive industries, the scale of this disturbs me. (Same company that blew up the caves sacred to the Aborigines of course.)

Currently the only pubs that can open are those operating as a restaurant. It's table service only, any movement within the pub requires a face covering (entering or leaving, using the toilet) and the tables are all 2M apart. Certainly no crowding at the moment.

We had a brief respite (3 days) where we could meet in private gardens, was just in the process of arranging a meet up with family (maximum of 6) and they 'moved the goalposts' again.

Thank goodness for all those fanatics who preserve old motor cars. Often the ones least appreciated during their lifetime are the rarest because no-one then thought it worth keeping them. Ferraris are two a penny! One of our friends in the 1980s was desperate to find an Austin A35 van and years later he succeeded. Good man!

This came up on my Facebook page, my youngest when he was recovering from injury and couldn't play in his regular BBL league team. He played a game for the EBL team and made quite an impression. Keep an eye on number 22.

Isn't it amazing the skills people have. Think of the computer in his head controlling hand and eye coordination. It must be the size of a planet. I marvel constantly at the processing power needed to something as simple as carrying a full pot of tea cross the room!
The way my little support network swung into action yesterday when I made an enquiry about getting a divan base. Less than 24 hours later it is ordered, invoiced, paid for and delivery arranged. Beats Amazon any day! :biggrin2:

Never ceases to amaze me. Although 'retired' from BBL level he's still 'got it', it's just unfortunate the pandemic has put the brakes on the lower league season. He still coaches at school.

It's actually about 2" of brain that makes up the motor cortex. My neuro physio's had a big wall chart in the treatment room showing the brain and what each bit of it was responsible for, it's fascinating. That bit of mine in the left hemisphere was what was impacted by Darth and subsequently that's the bit which the surgery trauma leaves me with drop foot and numbness on the right. Better than the other alternative though.

Ian. I must disagree. I have a brain the size of a planet as well. It must be, how else could it cope with the demands I make of it?
The fact that the castings I ordered on the 20th will be delivered today. When online buying goes well it's a miracle!
The fact that the clocks go back an hour on Sunday. Time to disrupt my sleep pattern and start preparing for the change. I shall stay up later and start adjusting now. I wish it would stay the same all the year!
