Thursday was a re-run of Wednesday but more wind. Glass has fallen to 29.3", just about dry outside at the moment but forecast is lousy, rising wind carrying heavy showers. I think Colin gets the outside jobs today Wendy!
By the way, are the new windows a success?

So far so good Stanley! He used sheet metal above the window which directs any water into holes drilled into the top of the hollow frames. There are drain holes at the bottom of the window and it all escapes that way. Work to repair and repoint the outside wall with lime mortar planned for the spring.

Good show.... I came back on to say that just after dawn the sky was suffused completely by a red-rosy glow. Red sky in the morning and all that.....

Freezing fog here last night. Still foggy now and nearly noon. 5C, but gardening calls.

It was a relatively kind day till 11:00 when it got gloomy and started raining. No great weight but miserable. This morning it is clear and the wind has dropped. Glass is still falling, below 29" at the moment. Anybody's guess what we'll have but whatever it is I don't think it will be violent.

Clear sky, cold and dry at 04:00 but it's damping a bit now. Glass has risen to 29.3". Forecast your own weather! The Met Office reckon it's to get wetter and milder next week.

Icy start but a beautiful day in Brittany,we went to the traditional Sunday morning car boot sale and bought 10 tubes of nearly new gouache for 1euro, a jigsaw for2, French scrabble(it has a different letter ratio than the English version ) for 3 , and three small picture frames for 3 . This was followed by a lunch out, then a bit of tidying and packing as its home we go tomorrow.

We didn't really have a frost Sue and I suppose it was a good day for November. Glass is dodging about a bit round 29.5" so reasonably settled at the moment. Dry outside and relatively calm so perhaps a re-run of yesterday. Things could be a lot worse!

Milder this morning and damp, heating hasn't come on. Glass is up slightly at 29.6". Slightly better day? But on the bright side this is good November weather and we should be grateful. Mind you, shipping forecast gives gales in the Irish Sea this morning and that's where our weather is coming from. Any wind could be more evident further north than us but we could have a breezy day later.
Later, after our walk. A very mild morning. Some rain clouds about but they are fairly high and weren't a threat.

Breezy and very mild yesterday. Glass has risen to 29.8" and it's dry outside so it looks like another good day for the time of year. Things could be worse!
Later after our walk. Another dry, calm and mild morning. Quite pleasant actually, now there's something you can't usually say about November weather.

It is reasonably mild, I have not had to put the heater on up here in the eaves where it is usually freezing - in summer it is baking - there are far too many windows. Previous owner used it as a painting studio.

Yesterday was dry, cam and mild. Glass is steady on 29.8" and it looks like another good November day. The forecasters say that we shall morph into a colder spell but no great shocks. We are doing well!
Later after our walk, A very pleasant morning. Several people going to work in shirt sleeves!

Yesterday was another pleasant day. Glass has fallen to almost 29.5" so it looks as though there's a change on the way. Dry outside and calm but slightly cooler. I'm washing bedding so there will almost certainly be rain!

There's change in the air this morning, cooler and raining earlier on but it's stopped at the moment. Definitely a wellie walk! Glass has fallen to 29.2" and the forecast is for it to get colder tonight with a rapid warm up and a return to showers and milder weather on Monday.

Don't get depressed Eileen, it's only weather! This morning is dry and frosty and the glass is going up, almost at 29.5". Today should be good but they tell us it's short-lived and we;re in for some more rain tomorrow.

Dry but a very strong blustery wind this morning. Glass has dropped to 29.2" but it's mild. No cobwebs after our walk this morning!

It was a very red sunrise this morning - by mid morning it was raining and with the strong southerly wind it feels cold.

We had the red sunrise as well Moh. Started raining at 11:00 and was wet until early evening. Dry outside at the moment but they promise us another band of rain today. Glass is steady, still on 29.2", looks like a similar day today with some strong winds later.
Later at 06:30, just started raining.

Dry and calm this morning, yesterday it had started raining by now and didn't brighten up till after dinner. Glass fell further yesterday but is now up slightly at 29.3" but don't clap hands! Three big depressions are heading in from the Atlantic and after a brief lull it looks as though we are in for more wind and rain. The shipping forecast this morning was giving severe gales in the western sea areas so we can expect it during the night or tomorrow.
Later at 08:00. We've had our walk in steady cold rain and it's still dark. Proper November day.... Can't help thinking about anyone who has to work outside in this. They have my sympathy and I think back to when I was doing it in the days before there were cheap waterproofs, you just wore the thickest coat you had because it took longer for the water to get through. We forget that these days.

Yesterday dry first thing, raining by 07:00, brightened up at 11:00. Today looks like a rerun, dry at the moment but wind is getting up and we are promised more rain than yesterday. Glass is at 29.2" so no joy there. Still, we are doing far better than others, see Tiz post on floods in Somerset.
08:00. We've had our walk. Bit breezy but it's a Southerly and warm. Hint of mizzle in the air but no rain yet and on the whole it's a very pleasant morning. My rain gauge, Butts Beck, tells me that there has been no excessive rain in the last 24 hours. I wish the people in the flooded parts could have the same experience! Mind you, the sky was red and still has a ruddy tinge as I write... We'll see what we get later.
