As I have mentioned before, my daily dose of excitement is to sit opposite Ladbrokes and watch the people and the traffic.... :biggrin2:
One thing I have noted is that with the demise of the Witch Way service we now have 'Wizz' run by Transdev that seems to be an express service between Skipton and Burnley. We also have a service numbered 280 which seems to be a Skipton service run via Earby and serviced by Stagecoach. To cap it all I saw a Ribble Bus on the 280 service one day. When things unlock further, and because I no longer have a dog, I will be using the buses more. I think I will need a crash course in what buses go where!

You wait at the Station Road bus stop if you want to go to Colne and beyond and at the Fernlea Avenue one if you are going Skipton way. I take it you will have the magic bus pass?

I knew that Ian and have the pass but I still don't understand what the difference between the different services is. When I need to know I'll find out, I'm not thinking of going anywhere by bus at the moment.
What got my attention is the sharp little low that's going to hit us today. It looks short and savage! I shall watch it through the window. :biggrin2:

You can get all the timetables and service information online, just Google the relevant service provider. The timetables are usually available as PDF's

How the glass dropped and treated us to a blast of November weather. I declined my afternoon walk in the cold wet windy weather!
Disturbing news of a friend having a small bedroom fire caused by an electric blanket. Never really trusted them myself...

This outbarn on the side of the A74 at Moss Band just over the border into Scotland always fascinated me when I was on the wagons and later in 1977 when I was in a car I stopped and did a picture. I love the way the gable records repeated enlargements by making it higher over the years.

Looks like a big fire down near the caravan park between Kelbrook and Salterforth.

A grand daughter in Oz having a scan which found no masses or tumours in her lungs but since coming home she has had to have a lumber puncture to relieve fluid pressure and so she is back in hospital.
It's polling day. :good:

The thing that grabbed me yesterday was the shower of hail/hard snow that hit us just after 16:00. Snow in the Scottish Highlands was in the news but nothing said about the Pennines!
This morning's stand out bit of news is the report that Labour have almost certainly lost Hartlepool which was a by election following the resignation of the Labour MP because of allegations of sexual harassment. This was the worst time to have a by-election because the government are on a high because of a successful vaccination roll out and allegedly because of bad conduct. Events Dear Boy..... Not happy news for old Labour supporters like me.

The fact that my bad knee seems to be a bit better. I think taking some weight off it with the stick is having an effect. Whatever, I am walking a bit easier. I think getting an early morning walk in is also a good thing. I don't go far but I think it's important.

A large weight lifted off my shoulders after a bad four weeks. Sometimes things aren't quite as bad as they look!

How broken can a system be...when a sleeping child dies after being tipped from a dumpster...when he not only has birth parents, but foster parents too? Tragic.

Yes I saw that story on the news. I think there were 3 of them, and they had a history of running away , often. Very sad and lots of questions to be answered ‘hopefully’.
Being a former foster child, I say ‘hopefully’ rather cynically. 🙁

You have every right to be cynical, Cazza. BUT...someone was paid to look after him. I would like to see an hour by hour account of his last 48 hours...

Have you seen the ice cream advert featuring Sandi Toksvig which is currently on TV? Carte D'or. Vanilla ice cream She emphasise that the vanilla for this luxury product comes from Madagascar.

That would be the same place mentioned in the Guardian today. Madagascar drought and starvation

I hope the former does not contribute to the latter.

I watched it Wendy. I wouldn't have known the astronomer came from Earby if you hadn't told me because that interview was in York wasn't it?
