Good decision and an enjoyable two hours. Ann Cleeves writes a good story and the acting and setting can't be faulted.

I watched the first three episodes of Ian Richardson in House of Cards last night. I shall watch the rest tonight. Apart from being an enjoyable way of passing the evening it's a good way of reminding ourselves what is happening and what a devious business politics is. If you haven't watched it for years (like me) treat yourself and have a look at it.....
It put at least one phrase into the lexicon, "You may think that but I couldn't possibly comment". Brilliant.....

I watched the last episode of House of cards.... what a good and disturbing series. As usual I have saved Baptiste for this evening while I am fully alert!

We watched Endeavour again last night. Oh dear Fred, what are you doing?. :notthatway:

I saw the first, will go back and look at the subsequent episodes. Thanks for reminding me Wendy.

Ooh! I have that one recorded (ff through the ad breaks is wonderful), I'm intrigued now...

I watched the first five minutes of the new Martin Clunes 'comedy' series tonight. having seen his 'American islands ' thing last night - I thought - how can anyone not like this guy?

I found out tonight. His character is a driving instructor, and seems to be a step father who demands his stepson wears a shirt and tie for a driving lesson, and then packed his rubbish for the dump - which included asbestos which is not allowed - so of course he says he'll fly tip it.

I switched off here. . . . . I found yesterday that Barney Miller, and Ernie Bilko are on YouTube - call me old fashioned, but they make me smile, and sometimes even laugh out loud.

I agree with you completely David. I find some TV impossible to enjoy.
Baptiste is good but uber noir!
Endeavour is a treat in store.

I've had to bring the 'old' Freesat box down from the guest bedroom due to the demise of the 'new' one. Initially I thought it was the Android app causing the issue so that was unpaired, next was a failing HDD but no, the lid has been off and I've disconnected the cables. It's still in a 'loop' and won't start, they're available for less than £200 now so Harry Garlick's will be getting a visit.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems Kev but secretly glad to know I'm not the only having stuff break down! :extrawink:

It's nearly 7 years old so well out of warranty, about time I upgraded anyway. Fortunately I still have the old Foxsat HDR so can still watch TV, it lacks the on demand services but it'll only be until tomorrow. I think we can do without Netflix and the other services until then :laugh5:

I can't remember how old my Humax box is, all I know is that it was the first Garlick installed.... Thankfully it's still performing well....
I was a bit rough last night so went to bed early, Jimmy Perez is a treat in store for tonight as I am much better now.....

The old Humax Foxsat I'm using as a backup came from Garlick's. It's got to be at least 12 years old, if it had the capability to receive the on demand services it would still be my main source of viewing.

Tripps, we too enjoyed the Martin Clunes progarmmes on islands of America and decided to watch the driving instructor programme. Like you, we switched it off.

Nice to know Kev....
Watched Shetland, well up to standard! Caught the episode of Endeavour I had missed as well. I do enjoy 2 hour crime dramas!
Wendy you're right, Fred Thursday taking bungs!?

We watched the Endeavour episode last night on the ITV Hub, still full of commercial breaks. The next episode is set to record on the new box, fast forward through the breaks is the way to go :good:

One thing I did notice about the new box, it's a lot smaller than the old one (Humax 1000s HDR v 1100s HDR).

I realised there was another episode of Endeavour I had missed, 'Pylon'. Watched it last night on ITV hub. I do like 2 hour slots!
Kev, I've stored all the info about the new Humax box away in my head and if I run into trouble I'll be down at Harry's like a winged arrow..... I take it that if I do ever need it it is just a simple box swap?

With the exception of adding your postcode and signing into the BBC and Youtube it is a straight swap.

I notice the BBC are going to offer a 'Netflix' type streaming service.

I saved Baptiste and Endeavour for tonight..... I tend to get sleepy before 10PM comes round so I enjoy them earlier in the evening.

Watched Baptiste, very hard going, it's well done but the plot is so depressing....
Then the latest Endeavour. Very good and Wendy and I can now rest easy, Fred came back from the brink. From the conclusion it seems that they have set everything up nicely for the next series. Very enjoyable.
I see Line of Duty is coming back, another very good series and I look forward to it.

I saved Jimmy for tonight. To keep me entertained I'm watching 'Killing Eve' again..... There will be a sequel to this one.
