In a way it could be Gloria. It's a very technical piece of kit and is involved in triggering a signal. I have never come across one. I don't think they ever became common.

A guess, a smoke alarm where a light beam is obscured enough for the light focus to drop on a heat sensitive switch setting off the alarm.
I think I should get 9 /10 for originality. :laugh5:

You get more than that. As far as I know you are right. It's a flame tachograph used in an early recorder of heart rate.

It's the Forbidden Corner at Leyburn. A belting good day out for kids, lots of adventures. We have taken all our grandchildren there, they loved it. :extrawink:
