Moi? Volunteer? Don't believe him, he is wearing the old ones out first!
Actually I didn't start yesterday because due to Ian's incompetence I couldn't find the images I need to work with.... He didn't tell me where he had hidden them. I shall be on the case today, it's a race against failing eyesight.

That'll be about right, blame the apprentice! I hid them in plain view on the front page of the Gallery! :guilty: Sooner you get your eyeballs lasered the better Stanley.

Yes, but the apprentice never mentioned the fact that the pics were on the current site!
Seriously though, what it does flag up is that what may be obvious to one person isn't necessarily the same for someone else. Everything is fine now and yes, you were right, Ubuntu lets me open another version of the site in a new screen. I shall be quietly improving the texts while you are away gallivanting....

Packed up and ready for off to a cottage in Suffolk. Cath's mum and dad are as settled as they are likely to be. Dans girlfried will be over to keep an eye on him and Charlotte is joining us on Tuesday after a job interview in Nottingham. Nolic

Stanley the outside painting is the new rendering and the garage door only, the rest is now plastic. We couldn't afford a new garage door as the whole refurb has been expensive, kitchen , bathroom , rewire, windows, barge boards etc. redecorated through out and new carpets and flooring throughout. The garage door met with a few mishaps with Dads car a few years back so it has had to be straightened. It has come up good so just needs painting now. All outside has been pressured washed including the greenhouse. The garden has been maintained since dads death as per his wish. It is a beautiful garden, and now a lovely house to go with it. Mum would love it. Dad on the other hand liked his Burnley colours in the lounge lol!

Good Sue. High quality PVC is a boon and a blessing.....

When they did the refurb they had to work hard to persuade me to ditch my high quality mahogany front and back doors but I'm glad I did it. Very secure and not w sign of weathering after five years.

Barely on the M6 Toll before the care home phoned. Cath's mums behaviour becoming too risky for them to cope with - wandering down the drive, refusing to let staff toilet Bernard and pushing him in his wheelchair without foot rests so that his feet are dragging on the floor. Feel she needs a high dependency dementia unit and in fairness they have tried with her but her behaviour is preventing dad from recovering. Long and short of it we made numerous phone calls and between us and the care home managed to get her assessed and she will be moving on Monday. Bernard very relieved as are the other residents who she is calling "nutters"!!!!!
Cath very upset as is her nephew but there is no real alternative. Looks like the holiday will be inducing more stress than it relieves. Nolic

Don't know what to say Nolic, except to give you & Cath my sympathy and hope that you can enjoy some holiday. I had to move my relative from a lovely care home to a secure dementia unit because she kept finding ways of getting out and going for a walk. It wasn't as pleasant a place to visit, but I don't think Muriel was any less happy in the dementia unit than in the residential home.

The worst thing for me would be that I would begin to think that death would be a happy release and then I'd feel guilty for even thinking that way which would make things even worse. Like so many other situations in life it seems so unfair and it is complete loss of control. All I can do is send you both my love....
