The smaller grasses on the green (fescues & fogs) are in flower and it looks like besides the broken lime tree, another of the newly planted saplings didn't survive the winter. i hope that they give it a bit longer before it is hooked out

Cathy, if you wanted you could get it on Google Earth Street View and take a screen shot and save it.

That small terrace of back to back houses was built by my Brother in Laws Grandfather. When each of their children got married they were given a home, and for a short while, all were occupied by the family members, the family name was Wood.

Thankyou Stanley and Graham, I have saved both to my computer, excellent. On the google photo (front of 6 Back Colne Rd) the house on the far side of the walkway (alleyway) is where one of our greatgrandfathers lived, he was a Barnoldswick Policeman. I often go thru the gallerie of pictures on here and resafe some of them because when the new one-guy program started I lost all my saved pics :(
Anyway i am very happy to have one of the 6 Back Colne Rd pics again

You have proof of that? The only people talking in those terms are the English Defence League. The man was hacked to death on the street, surely that's graphic enough?
What attracted my attention was my bottom denture breaking in two after only 55 years service. Should I complain about shoddy workmanship? Not really, it has served me well, off the Harrison Street dentists this morning. Thank God for the NHS I shall probably get a replacement made free.

What attracted my attention is the icon next to this sites name on the top address bar. How long has that been there? What is it supposed to depict?
Looks like an entrance into an igloo...

Address bar....hmmm...maybe I don't have that on my iPad...I can't see one...so I am not sure what you are referring to.
I am not saying it isn't there...( I truly believe YOU can see an igloo)
You haven't been inhaling your Tomato Soup again, have you?

Pssssst.....Anyone else see an igloo? :gossip:

What took place in Woolwich yesterday was another example of mindless brutality carried out under the banner of an ancient and generally benign belief. By committing an atrocious act of that magnitude, the perpetrators have put their own communities at risk, fortunately the discipline of the majority of British people may prevail. There will also be some extremely angry servicemen and women who cannot be locked away indefinitely, and what about the ordinary people who support "Help the Heroes" and proudly wear "T" shirts with the logo on them, or have stickers in their car windows, are they also at risk?. When those two are tried and sentenced they should not be locked away with their own kind, Colchester perhaps!!

The non-growing lime tree on the Green, appears to be budding now, so it may yet make an appearance.

Several of the Birches are also very slow in coming into leaf

Its a site identifier, most sites have them, although why it changes from the little OGFB icon, I don't know. I haven't changed anything recently and Doc hasn't been here in over a week.

This is the Icon for phpbb, the software OGFB runs on :

From evil cometh good things. In Woolwich over £100,000 has been raised for Help for Heroes in the past few days, the Union Flag flies in our garden again!
