Well done Cathy you got it straight away, the brush is for cleaning the circular object is for sharpening the blades.....

An erratic, a boulder carried by a glacier during the ice ages and now far from its former home. In the UK they usually get carried from the north to south and wet to east. Often seen on beaches on our east coast but can be found anywhere. There's one sitting on a rock shelf at Porthleven on the south coast of Cornwall, even though the glaciers didn't travel that far south. However when the glaciers started receding, each summer the meltwaters formed raging torrents that could carry even boulder like that further south than the glacier had reached.

However if Stanley is on the right track it could be a massive lump of lava from a volcanic eruption! :smile:
