I'm watching the Womens football. I clipped this a while ago, and it used to be true, and amusing.

The Spanish team don't seem to have read it.

Nice one David. I like the letter. From what I have seen of women's football it's like their tennis. Clean and entertaining, not sullied by temper tantrums or gamesmanship.

I concur, noticed also that they can run about forever it would seem. The games look a lot faster than the prima donna blokes versions.

We watched the extra time last night and it was excellent, totally different game to how the men play.

Murder in Provence.

Has there ever been anything worse on the prime time Sunday evening slot? I doubt it.

We binge watched The Drowning on Netflix, a four part BBC drama. Jill Halfpenny and Rupert Penry Jones are in it, not a bad watch. Some of it stretches reality a bit but it works.

Indeed Gloria. A totally different kettle of fish to the game that the blokes play. Still hard in the tackles but you don't see them writhing about in agony when they fall over. They just get up and carry on. Extremely successfully last night, I don't normally follow football as a rule but the girls are always worth watching, impressed as well by the number of pony tails.

Totally different to the game the guys play Ian, I agree. They could learn a lot from watching these, and it is much more entertaining without the amateur dramatics.

I've been watching an old Scandi Noir, 'Trom'. Set in the Faroes and interesting if only for the wild scenery and how people live there.

We watched three of four Cheats last night on itv hub. Probably watch the last one tonight after football. Very watchable, keeps the attention all the way through.

I have it booked on catch-up tonight. The Mercedes team seem to be making progress with the problems that have been plaguing them this season.

You were right Wendy, one of the better races. How nice to see Lewis able to compete again! I'll bet young George was really pissed off when he was overtaken by the old master.....

Just bumped into a rather highbrow (for me) programme on Philip Larkin presented by A.N. Wilson. I was impressed by his attude to 'modern jazz' (he hated it) and death. His favourite was Sidney Bechet - that's good. I know the first line of his most famous poem, but nothing else. I found myself thinking that maybe paying the licence fee wasn't a mistake after all. I can't imagine any other station making the programme.

Steady lad - you're mellowing.

I've been avoiding the lugubrious voice of Simon Armitage pontificating on the same subject David.
Ian Hislop was good on Suburbia on R4 and on TV I am enjoying a re-run of all the New Tricks episodes....

A new series of Shetland started last night, the final one starring Dougie Henshall as Perez. I wonder if they will kill him off or let him sail into the sunset with the nice nurse lady he is trying to avoid involvement with. Personally, I don't trust her.....
