Good walking weather today, a bit damp underfoot in places but reasonably good going 'off road'. I think this bit is called Middle Hague as it's not far from Middle Hague farmhouse.

Thanks Ian, the hotel is running at 50% capacity and the entertainment venues are running at 50% of that so plenty of room for distancing. You're required to stay in your seat until directed to leave, a very slick operation. You have to pre book dining times too (breakfast and evening meal) and there is a one way system around the restaurant. The food was excellent and entertainment top quality (mentioned in the Today I shall be mainly thread). Face coverings are mandatory in all public areas until you're sat a a table to either eat or drink.
The current restrictions didn't really impact the enjoyment of the break.

Update
Looks like we had our break just in time, Nottinghamshire will be going into tier 3 which will impact the hotel...

Kev, the pic of the hall... Reminds me of one of the pieces of advice Roger Perry gave me. "Never snap a bird in flight. They always look like a bit of crap on the neg!" Surprised you aren't wearing a collar and tie!

A walk out through Foulridge this afternoon before the clouds rolled in. You can just see a bit of the upper res through the trees (bottom right).

You've less leaves than we have in Barlick Kev. Does winter come sooner in Foulridge?
I think it must have arrived...

Slightly higher up than Barlick so I reckon it could :-)

Slightly higher up than Kev (+150ft) we have only the oak trees left with any amount of leaves on them. The flowering cherries started dropping theirs last week.

Perhaps it's the shelter Whitemoor gives us that helps Barlick.

For those who haven't visited the great metropolis of Colne recently this is the state of the new building replacing the old Health Centre opposite the market hall.

Is it another health centre Ken?

No we already have a brand new health centre on Cradock Rd. Well laid out and more fit for purpose than the old one. The old one was one of these places where when you went into the waiting room you held your breath to a point of collapse.
Not quite sure what's going into the new building but its been marked down for commercial outlets on the ground floor and apartments on the 1st and 2nd floors.

Just had a wander around my local park. That’s 3215 steps so far for today
Have I shown you this bin before? Very clever.
The trees are really starting to mature now, and here’s one type that I haven’t noticed before.
The flowers look like native fuschia’s to me, but can’t say for sure. They are like pretty bells.

That pic of the tree reminded me of a warm morning in Australia Cathy. Don't know why but it hit the spot.
It's dark, cold and dry here....

Had a wander around Foulridge lower res, up past Sand Hall, around Slipper Hill res and back down through the village. It felt a bit warmer today but here's still a bit of snow on top of Pendle.

Niece's wedding at The Old Kent Barn near Folkestone. Stayed in a nice little hotel in the middle of nowhere, the Marquis of Granby in Alkham.

The rooms weren't overly big but the bed was very comfortable.
Moved on to Littlecote House, just outside Hungerford, also in the middle of nowhere for an extra couple of days. Not a bad week really.

Skipton
The Main Street is blocked off from traffic so the market is open to walk around, this needs to be kept on.

North Yorkshire Council don't appear to be extending the market day road closure beyond September 4th. There's mixed opinions in the town.

We heard one of the stall holders saying it was going to change back in a month. All the stalls face the road, so they are open opposite each other and no traffic between, it makes an enjoyable stroll around.
