Steak pudding and peas for dinner and sausage, chips and eggs for tea. I was a naughty boy and OD'd on chocolate raisins.... No need for pudding!

A scotch Egg and cottage cheese for dinner followed by an apple. Tea was three sausages, chips, peas and two fried eggs followed by a small cream trifle Kathy had slipped in my shopping.

My cook in was Carrots, spuds, parsnips, sprouts, sprouts and some mutton chops with a large Spanish onion. By dinner time I had veggies cooked but I resisted the temptation, let the chops simmer on, loaded the slow cooker and had a Scotch Egg and cottage cheese for dinner. By teatime the chops were cooked, the cider gravy was in the slow cooker and I took some veggies off and had them with a small pork pie for tea. I topped the slow cooker up with the defatted meat and left it to argue with itself.

Xmas Dinner and tea was the mutton and veggie stew which is lovely, I never tire of it! Orange and Champagne Wensleydale cheese with water biscuits for afters, very expensive but highly recommended. One small piece of 70% Fairtrade dark chocolate with Orange for a treat. Not overfull when I went to bed......

Susan and I had a steak butty on brown teacake. Susan had butter on hers but I spread cooked sprouts on the bread. We had mince pies, Xmas cake and dark chocolate for afters. Susan pronounced the rib steak as superb! I had mutton and veggies for tea and needed no afters. Lovely day, lovely grub and no excess.

Mutton and veggies and the last of the Xmas cake for dinner. Tea was Mutton and veggies plus the last of the Orange and Champagne cheese on water biscuits for afters and an apple. I have extended the stew with frozen peas and it will see me through today. Butcher's is open as usual tomorrow.....

Made a pot of Soup to clear out the Veg Bin before grocery shopping tomorrow. Threw a couple of spoons of Curry Powder in and a sprinkle of Piri Piri to take it to the next level.

Small pork pie and a bag of crisps for dinner. I picked on half a small barbecued chicken for tea and another bag of crisps.... (I have discovered Tyrell's crisps in the supermarket. Ridiculously expensive but superb!)

Ah...now...I bought a packet of Tyrells Crisps for Christmas Eve munchies ( Worcestershire sauce and sun dried tomato flavour). As I tipped them into a bowl there was a heavy clunking noise. I had a lemon-sized lump of solid matter with a few chips around it! The matter looked like scrapings from the fryer, and was weighty enough to make up a considerable weight portion of the bag. Inedible I think, and more like a collection of stuff that should be scooped out of the fryer and thrown away.
I've been on their website and left a comment, but no response as yet. I did take photos of the lump...
But yes, the few chips that I got were nice.
I shall be feeling the bag for lumps before I buy in future..

Hard luck Maz! I hope you have better luck next time! Perhaps it's a consequence of them being hand-made in small batches.....

I have not been put off. I suspect they are a good product ( to be enjoyed on occasion).
I mean... :laugh5: ...I didn't find a heavily bandaged finger or anything nasty!
I made Febby examine the lump to assure me it wasn't a deep fried mouse before we ate the remaining chips...

Pork Pie and veggies for dinner and the mutton stew and veggies for tea. I cooked the mutton chops and kidneys in cider by roasting them with onions in vintage cider. I added a bit of curry powder to the usual spice mix and topped it off with a good glug of Ouzo..... I have to report that after defatting it is magnificent gravy!

Just to throw a bit of variety into the mix, I made a 'Cottage Pie' with a cauliflower, butternut squash, sweet potato and cheese mash for tea last night.
