Be thankful Cathy that you didn't have a world of shot ice yesterday. Luckily ours is gone now but we have Storm Isha to replace it! Deep Joy!

Stanley, I thought you would have recognised that we are both going thru extremes of weather, and each has it’s problems.

Cathy I do sympathise with you..... :extrawink:

Yesterday afternoon the slow thaw continued and at 19:00 when I went to bed it was breezy, overcast and a few spots of rain on the wind. This morning it is still breezy and is raining heavily. The glass is down on 999mb and the forecast is that Storm Isha is going to come in tonight and build through tomorrow. Amber warnings for wind and yellow for rain from 10:00 this morning forwards. Our wind will be strong SSW and constant with gusts up to 60mph tonight and tomorrow morning. This gives us a high of 9C and a low of 5C tonight with a -4C wind chill for most of the day. The outlook is for similar temperatures and winds for at least three days and then we can expect the weather to calm down a bit.....
Later at 05:30. Listening to the shipping forecast. Many area have violent storm 11 forecast. Storm Isha is moving down the country.

Yesterday afternoon was the growing onslaught of Storm Isha. We had damaging winds and torrential rain. At 19:00 I went to bed and we still had wind and rain with peak wind speeds forecast for after midnight. I can't report on them because I slept like a baby but first thing this morning we had strong winds and broken ragged overcast but it was dry. I have just looked outside and the wind seems to have dropped a bit but it has just started raining again. The glass fell below 980mb yesterday but has been rising overnight and this morning is on 987mb and rising. The Met Office forecast is in flux because the amber and yellow warnings in force end at 06:00 and the forecast from the predictions on the site is for a day of broken cloud, scattered showers and brisk but declining winds. The constant WSW wind is brisk and gusts towards 50mph all day giving us a high of 6C and a low of 4C tonight with a severe wind chill all day that will reach -6C at times making the perceived temperature below freezing for the second half o0f the day. The outlook is for warmer and wetter weather for the next three days, mid-week it starts to settle down a bit and we could have a decent day on Friday with a bit of luck.

Rain most of yesterday, went to bed 10.30ish, couldn’t hear any wind so opened the window a tad, it was seriously howling, shut window, heard nothing all night, and it’s now fine and quiet this morning.

Yesterday afternoon was windy but mainly dry, every now and then we had a spatter of rain or in one case sleet but that didn't last long. It felt like thunder weather to me..... At 19:00 when I went to bed it was raining again. First thing this morning it was windy, we had broken cloud and it was dry and cool. I've just popped me head out and it hasn't changed. Th glass rose all day yesterday and this morning is up on 1014mb and still rising slowly. There is no official Met Office forecast, only a yellow wind warning but looking at the chart they are telling us that it will start raining at about 08:00 and stay like that all day. The mainly Southern winds are moderate to brisk and increase in strength as the day goes on, by midnight they are forecast to be around 60mph, so I suppose it's another storm wind and rain all day! We get a semi-tropical high of 12C and a low tonight of 7C with a wind chill for most of the day of -5C. The six day outlook starts with similar wind and rain but gradually calms down remaining warm.
Later at 05:20. The Shipping Forecast gives gale warnings for all areas except Fitzroy and Biscay. In other words the Isles are surrounded by severe gales..... Just heard, our new storm is called Storm Jocelyn......

Adelaide. We have 41C today 😓
Some Bees have been drinking from the bird bath water,
and as usual on these extremely hot days, our Zoo is giving the animals lots of ice-cubes. 😊

Yesterday the rain slacked off a bit before 16:00 but at 20:00 we still had rain blown in on a rising wind. First thing this morning it was dry but we had Storm Jocelyn howling in from the West as it built to its peak of 60mph about now. I've just popped out to check and it is still dry and roaring in. The glass has risen to 1003mb and is still rising fast. Once again there is no Met Office forecast beyond a yellow warning for wind that is in affect until 13:00. However the chart says that the day will stay dry so that's an improvement. Might even get a midday walk in! The constant westerly winds are moderate and gradually decline during the day. They give us a high of 8C and a low of 4C tonight with a wind chill of -5C at the moment but reducing to -4C for most of the day. The six day outlook is for unseasonably warm weather like today but with less wind and rain. It looks quite nice actually!

Yesterday afternoon stayed dry and at 20:00 we had a clear sky and a moon that is full today. This morning we started with a full moon veiled by a very thin layer of cloud, calm, cool and dry and it hasn't changed yet but will do shortly with our first batch of rain. The glass rose yesterday and today is steady on 1022mb. The forecast is for two spells of rain, One this morning from 6 until 9 and the other starts around 14:00 and lasts into the night. The southerly winds will be moderate and gust to 35mph giving us a high of 10C and a low of 4C tonight with a -3C wind chill for most of the day. The six day outlook is for similar weather but drier for the next week....

Yesterday the weather kept to the forecast and we had a wet afternoon. At 20:00 it was still raining and first thing this morning was the same. It has moderated now and we only have very light rain and of course an overcast sky. The gl,ass is up on 1007mb and rising and the Met Office forecast is for the rain to have ceased by 06:00 and for us to have a dry, clear and sunny day. The westerly wind will be moderate and gusts to 50mph giving us a high of 5C and a low of 4C tonight with a wind chill of as much as -6C this morning but less later as the wind moderates. The outlook is for warmer temperatures, overcast weather but dry .

We had a 59mph gust just before 3am this morning, it was accompanied by torrential rain. That's stronger than the 57mph peaks in the two storms earlier this week. Luckily it was a "one off" gust! If you look at the graphs on our weather station report you can see the sudden drop in temperature and the sudden deluge.
