Scotch Egg and veggies for dinner. A Scotch egg and a small pork pie for tea. The veggies are cooked and I got my mutton on Friday but cooked oxtail again for the base and added a pack of Anchovies in sun flower oil and chilli for an adventure. Usual veggies cooked and ready to join in!

That does sound like another culinary "adventure", Stanley. :geek:
We had Roast Chicken/Potatoes/Sprouts/Peas/Carrots and Peppercorn Gravy.
( no afters as we don't "do" afters unless the kids come to visit)

Not that adventurous Maz. See THIS Guardian article on 'Garum', the fermented fish sauce used by the Romans and now being made again. (One of the main ingredients of Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce is Anchovies.) It's working well in the oxtail stew. I had straight veggies for dinner and oxtail stew and veggies for tea with cheddar on oatcakes for afters.

One has to navigate school holidays/heatwaves/and Febby's workload. ( mind you, the latter is not a problem because his work is computer based and he can work anywhere providing he has coverage for our mobile internet. We have never had a problem, yet!,anywhere. We have our own mobile hotspot.) Often when we are away, he works in the afternoon, while I have a little siesta. Fantastic air conditioning in our "Minibego" makes it all so easy.life...is easy... :good:

I extended the stew with baked beans and a can of new potatoes and had it for dinner and tea. I like extending, it equates to very cheap meals! I felt a bit peckish later in the evening so I scrambled two eggs, added salt and pepper and a dollop of tomato ketchup and had it on six small oatcakes. It was so good I could have eaten it again but resisted the temptation!

Blade of mutton roasted with veggies, deboned and cut up and into the slow cooker with veggies, no fat on it. I had the meat of half a barbecued chicken for dinner with the remains of the broth bits. For tea I had straight veggies as the meat hadn't fully come to. No afters apart from a Cox apple.

Boring I know but exactly the same as yesterday! Proper cold weather grub!
The new slow cooker arrives tomorrow, good job because even though it is heating the food the old one is not getting it up to temperature.
