I made a small pot of Veg Soup today...odd I know considering our warmer weather...but hubby loves Soup.
It was lovely. ( he had a "big" bowl and I had a "small" bowl :biggrin2: ). Both satisfied.

Veggie soup is light and easily digestible and always goes down well. My mutton stew is 90% veggies and I had it X two yesterday for dinner and tea. I had cheddar on oatcakes and a Cox for afters.

I finished the mutton and veggies for dinner and tea with cheese and biscuits for afters. Karl delivered my meat at dinnertime and so that's taken care of. All I have to do this morning is get my BET!

Found a Red Salmon Quiche (long lost), whilst cleaning out my chest freezer this morning. Actually, not THAT long lost because I do remember making it probably 8 weeks ago, but I had completely forgotten it was in there. So we shall have it for dinner tonight. Will do Weight Watchers style oven chips and make a salad.

I had steak pudding and mushy peas for dinner. I did veg shopping yesterday and so at teatime I had a Scotch Egg and freshly boiled sprouts, lovely! I love my sprouts!

I cooked two bags of broth bits and had Cornish Pasty and veggies for dinner. Meat pie and veggies for tea and the remainder of the broth bits dropped in the slow cooker with the mutton stew I started earlier in the day. Veggie cooking today on free leccy.....

:biggrin2: Hubby thought dinner was YUM. (I am a domestic goddess...apparently) :biggrin2:

Why is he being so nice, and what does he want? :laugh5:

Does he need a reason? Perhaps he just wants more......
I had straight veggies for dinner and veggies and mutton for tea with no afters except an apple. Wonderful how the stew improves as it ages.....

Dinner was a bacon and egg butty courtesy of my daughter who was visiting. (Sorry Wendy but it would have been discourteous to refuse! And anyway I enjoyed it!) Tea was the last of the mutton and veggies followed by cheddar and marmalade on oat biscuits. Don't scoff, try it. They go well together! A Braeburn apple for pudding, the Cox's are finished I am afraid.

We went to 'pie night' at the RR social club last night, I had a chicken, bacon and mushroom pie minus the pastry crust (an option at the time of ordering) with mushy peas and steamed veg (no chips). At £6 a head it is a bargain. I washed it down with a pint of 'Ey Up' pale ale, I can't remember the name of the brewery but I suspect it was local as are most of the guest ales. :good:

I've got a link to the Pie night somewhere on my machine. It's on my bucket list - but I'd eat the whole thing.

Last night I set a 'personal best' for eating things past their 'use by' date. I had a large pot of Greek (style) yoghurt - (actually made in Rochdale), which was marked use by 7 January 2018.

It looked smelled and tasted fine so I had a portion with a splash of Polish Malina raspberry juice on it. I didn't say anything at the time in case it went wrong, but I am happy to announce that I have survived.

Waste not want not . . . .

Yoghurt from Rochdale...would that be Lancashire Farm Dairies, aka Pakeeza? (Oooh, are we allowed to use that name?)

I always ignore dates and use my head and my nose. Like you David, no problems!
I got veggies yesterday and boiled two bags of Broth Bits with minimum water, Oxo, vinegar and salt and pepper so it made gravy. I Had a Scotch Egg with veggies for dinner and a steak pudding and veggies for tea. Apple pie and cream for a treat for pudding! (When I bought the pie Kathy gave me a small pot of double cream as a bonus....)

Steamed Cabbage and Carrots (with a knob of Butter), Plain Bolied Spuds, Grilled Sausage and Onion Gravy. I cooked the Onions long and low, so hopefully no repercussions!

Almost exactly what I had Maz. I had straight veggies X two for dinner and tea. The longer the main event, the stew, has to meld and mature the better it will be! I felt the need for something rougher later and so had scrambled egg with tomato ketchup on six small oatcakes for a treat. Funny how your appetite tells you what you need.......
