It's confession time..... Kathy slipped two cheese and onion flapjacks in my shopping that had got squashed. Not a lot of pastry on them but still verboten! I had one for dinner and the other for tea chopped up with the last of last week's veggies (I know but it's free grub!). Ice cream and strawberries for pudding. Nuts and an apple.

I had a Scotch Egg and potato salad for dinner. (I know.... but I fancied it!) Tea was dead in line with the Wendy Plan, a rib steak and one fried egg followed by ice cream and strawberries. Lovely......

Ice cream would definitely not be in the Wendy plan!

Ah! Thanks for that. I was under the impression it was. I shall switch to straight cream!

Go for the thickest double cream you can get, it's the whey in milk that has all the sugar in it.

I cooked carrots and parsnips and mashed them. Also a pan of cabbage that was dropped on top of the mash. This is the veggie base for the next few days. Steak pudding and veggies for dinner and a scotch egg and veggies for tea..... Ice cream and nuts for pudding.

I grilled 6 sausages first thing. I had two with veggies for dinner and tea, smaller helpings, I am being a good boy! I had the last of the ice cream st teatime, that's the last I shall get Wendy, I have taken notice! 20gm of dark chocolate and some nuts for afters. I like the nuts too much and I shall have to eat less of them as well!

I had sausage and chorito with veg for dinner, only half a bowl. There is something wrong with my veggies, can't put my finger on it but I didn't like it so very unusually for me I threw what was left away. for tea I had 3 roll mop herrings with two boiled eggs, cheese and 6 small oatcakes. 40gm of chocolate and a small apple for afters.

I had a three egg omelette with cheese for dinner. No interest in tea after the Jack incident, just 40gm of dark chocolate and two small apples......

Food hasn't been high on the agenda! I didn't want anything for dinner but made myself eat three oatcakes with some mackerel in tomato sauce. Didn't finish the small tin.... For tea I had the sausage and peas in the fridge that I made the day before but never ate. I warmed that up and managed about half of it but used some of the sausage to tempt Jack into eating a tiny bit of tea, had 40gm of dark chocolate and an apple later. I have found that the best way to get Jack to take his antibiotics is to embed the half tablet in a slice of sausage, he falls for it every time!
Stuart was very kind and delivered my meat last night and I think I'll be eating most of Jacks best mince and feeding him on sausage and biscuit until I get him on the road again. I haven't weighed myself but I'll bet I lose 7lbs this week..... Every cloud has a silver lining!

Very little! I had a steak pudding on its own for dinner and for tea I pinched a bit of Jack's dog meat, added some frozen mixed veg and another steak pudding, about half a bowl. That and some nuts were sufficient.....

I had a cold Scotch Egg and HP sauce for dinner. I knew I wasn't eating enough so in the afternoon I Fried a large Spanish onion chopped up in olive oil, added a tin of Chopped Italian Tomatoes and two small sliced sausages and reduced it to a thick sauce. At teatime I deep fried a sweet potatoes cut into chunky chips and divided it all between two 3/4 filled bowls. One for tea and the other covered with film and into the fridge for today's tea. I enjoyed it and topped up with nuts.

The Master (still coughing!) has requested Cauliflower Cheese Soup for tea. So a pot of it has been duly made. He isn't eating much, so it's probably a good choice...

Another hot Lemon/Disprin and Whiskey Toddy for his Lordship....fifth night in a row now...but he is still poorly and coughing. The level in the Whiskey bottle goes down. ( not for me...hate Whiskey!) I fight all disease off with Red Wine if needed. :laugh5:

If he thinks it is good for him.......
I had Scotch Egg and HP sauce for dinner and the other half of the sausage, onion, tomato and sweet potato chips for tea. It was nice, just nuts for afters......

I cooked two kipper fillets wrapped in foil with butter and lemon juice . I had one with frozen mixed veggies for dinner, a small bowlful and had the same for tea but with the addition of two fried eggs. Nuts for afters....

A bit of politics with my tea last night. I read somewhere recently that Morrisons sell over fifty types of bread, whereas in Soviet run Poland there was only one - produced by the state baker, and you had to queue for it. Decide for yourself whether or not you believe that, although I can vouch for the Morrisons bit. Does it have the 'ring of truth' ?

This was from Morrisons range and is a 'panninette' - said to be a Lebanese flatbread.
I quickly made it into a pizza of sorts. Ten minutes start to finish in the Halogen oven.

Looks nice David and not a lot of washing up...... The Polish story could well be largely true but I'll bet someone somewhere was making good bread at home.......
Jack's problems are having an interesting effect on my diet. I have to keep getting ABs down him and the foolproof way with a terrier is a small slice of grilled sausage with a slit cut in it for the pill. I have yet to meet a terrier who doesn't like sausage and it works every time! This has meant that I have to have a stock of grilled sausage in the fridge. I like them as well and so the inevitable happens!
Yesterday I did my fried onion and tinned tomato sauce again but with the addition of diced bacon. One sausage and some frozen mixed veggies made a good small bowlful of dinner and the same for tea but with the reinforcement of a fried egg . Nuts for afters.....

I made individual Egg and Bacon Pies last night...delicious...but we struggled with them due to poor appetites.
Made a robust pot of Pea and Ham Soup for tonight. Hubby loves Soup and I promised him I stirred the cure for his virus into it.

The Maz equivalent of Jewish Penicillin!
I had a small sweet potato chipped with the remains of the tomato and onion for dinner. For tea I cooked some small Basa fillets (A Vietnamese white fish) in foil with butter and lemon juice and had it with mixed veggies. Nuts and an apple for afters.

It was but a small wave of imaginary thoughts over the pot of Soup ( with mystical hand movements and some muttering)
We have now enjoyed the Soup, and although hubby's eyes look like he has Ebola, we are very pleased with our wee selves that we have managed something as huge as a whole bowl of Soup! ( first thing I have eaten for 24 hours)

I'm only half alive today, but I still can't let food go to waste. I emptied out the veg crisper as I usually do on a Friday. Usually I make Soup, as it never gets wasted at ours. Instead, I am oven roasting all the veg. I will cook some sliced potato later and make a sort of layer bake with the roast veg. ( in the roasting pan there is onions, red capsicums, sprouts, zucchini, Brocolli, and Butternt Pumpkin.) might even throw a bit of cheese into the layer bake, as I have some Ricotta and Parmesan that needs using too. I found a lonely looking Chicken Breast in the freezer, so I will do something with that ( crumb it)
Shopping day tomorrow. We will go early, so as to infect as few people as possible!

I doubt if you are infectious now Maz. Get well soon!
I was going to make Jack walk to the butcher's this morning but then decided not to push it. I rang Kathy and she brought my meat for me at teatime. Not very imaginative yesterday, I had a battered cod fillet deep fried with frozen mixed veggie X two for dinner and tea with nits for afters....
