Two hours after dinner, BSL 6.0
Not bad on a Winter's night is it?

You are doing well Maz! Is low-carbing helping to keep the weight off?

Yes indeed, especially round the midriff.
( and I have teenage sized boobs again) :laugh5:
I've lost 11 kilos but am stable now. I feel I could lose more if I wanted to, but just want to hold here for a while. I feel well at my current weight.

Same here Maz, the weight around the middle disappeared and my waist returned. Still the same after over 3 years.

I still load my plate the same, but just know when to stop and push it away. Most nights, I push away more than I eat. But I do enjoy what I eat and have simply had enough.
i don't ever feel hungry nowadays.
(But I do need breakfast if we are going on a morning bike ride or long hike!)

Same as yesterday, small helpings and steak pudding and veggies for dinner and a small pork pie with the same for tea. Not exciting but tasty and easy.....

Grilled Cumberland sausages and made two meals in bowls of sausage and veggies. One in the microwave and one in the fridge. The day's cooking taken care of! Gravy from the sausages shared out between the two bowls (I always put some water and Worcestershire Sauce in the grill pan). Waste not want not!

Our one butcher we relied on for sausages closed down about 4 months ago. We haven't had a sausage since!
Most supermarket sausages contain Garlic.
Garlic is "the new sugar"....it is in everything. Even in fish. Try reading the sides of packets and see how often Garlic comes up. We have opened every fridge door in supermarkets and read packet after packet. Can't trust anything in packets.
(I give up....)

Sounds like you could use some of my homemade Chicken Soup, which I mutter incantations over as I stir...

Jewish Penicillin would be just the ticket Maz.
I had one sausage and a very small amount of veggies for dinner and tea, less than half a bowl each time. Didn't need any more.

A bit naughty tonight. I took Steak and Onion Pies out of the freezer, because I was determined to complete my sewing today and then do the big clean up. Standing and cooking just felt like one dreary job too many!
I only eat the insides of pies these days and throw the pastry away...
I was delighted to find a Potato Bake in the freezer as I was digging for the pies. So a really easy night for me...just have to steam a few Veg.

Nothing naughty about that love! I'm all for the easy way out every now and again. Having said that I am still going veggie shopping this morning.

I shall send Stanley a pic of what is left on my plate after I eat the insides of a pie, most of my veg AND as much potato bake as I dare. :biggrin2: lots get thrown away these days, but I am full, and enjoyed my dinner. Just "carb avoiding".

Yuck, all that stodge. Well left!
We had salmon steaks fried in butter with a nice big salad, coleslaw and lashings of mayo.

Jack comes for tea on a Thursday, Sally is away so we will be having home made pizza. I have all the wherewithal for the pizza dough which I will mix in the bread maker (it does a very good job). I found a pack of chorizo sausage rounds in the fridge bought a while ago. I have onions, garlic, tomatoes, pure' and frozen peppers but will get some fresh. I will need some mozzarella so a trip to the Coop is in the offing.

Once sorted, the dough will make itself. Jack has a wide window of attendance time as he sometimes goes to the gym after work. I can assemble when he arrives and it will be ready in half an hour. Leaves the day for what else I may want to do.

Exactly Wendy...can't handle carb stodge any more...push it away! This was "dinner by default" as I was busy sewing, and knew I may not have the inclination to cook after a big clean up. Hubby ate his and his plate was clean. That is all I care about when I have been absorbed all day. We have plenty of healthy meals to counter balance!
Panbiker...love Pizza...a rare treat nowadays...but my birthday is looming, and I have (hopefully) convinced son that Pizza makes an excellent birthday meal ( though I will avoid any thick crusts). Once a year won't hurt me!

But the stuff in my "left-overs" is what gets trapped in your midriff ladies!

The street pizza establishments were a revelation when we were in Rome. You could get a mixture of small slices of whatever they had on offer for take away. The back street pasta restaurant we found that was rammed with office workers at lunchtime also fantastic. Similar deal, five different types of hand made pasta and toppings on one plate and a small beer all for less than five euro's.

Tell your son pizza is a rule for a birthday girl if that's what you fancy, it should be your choice anyway if it's your birthday.

Yes! Birthday rules! It will be Pizza and I shall enjoy it.
Blood sugar after pushing my carbs away is 6.9. ( I am full and happy.and not feeling deprived)
Sometimes I wonder how my body laboured through the carbs, though we always ate a huge amount of Veg, and they came first in every meal. They still do. But now we eat less Carbs with the Veg. ( apart from tonight's meal )

My other new rule, is not to eat a single morsel of ANYTHING after dinner. Nothing you choose to eat after your main course will do you any good. No dessert, no nibbles. Stop after main course. Go to bed slightly hungry if need be. Your body needs to rest overnight and not be busy digesting more than your evening meal. You have already stored excess carbohydrate in your liver, and this will release itself (as glucose)into the bloodstream overnight. Don't overload your system by munching after main course.

I Take it 'Dinner' is the main meal of the day. Personally I can eat any amount of 'stodge', beef stake pudding (suet) chips and gooey puddings are a real treat. I eat until I'm pleasantly full then stop. Our main meals are at about 4 pm and then that's it until next morning. Everybody is different and should temper their intake to match their own metabolism.

Sounds about right P. I made Colcannon yesterday but more onion and cabbage than mash. I had a small bowl for dinner and tea. Never eat anything after about 5PM or before about 10 in the morning and nothing in between in the day. Chacun a son gout......
