I've got a straight edge this morning! I had the last of the chicken wing and veggie roast for breakfast augmented with plum tomatoes. Tea was (shock horror!) a very expensive but excellent Co-op pizza. Butcher's day today and an empty fridge.

Saturday is always a light meal for us. Two poached eggs on toast, and..... Baked Beans. One small tin left. No panic buying, it'll be another six weeks before this meal comes round again.

I always have good stocks of baked beans P. If all else fails they are almost a complete food. If you run short pop round and I'll hand you a six-pack through the window...

(Looks good enough to eat doesn't it.) I cooked yesterday, chicken wings and veggies with added onions and goodies. I boiled and mashed carrots and parsnips as well so with a bit of extension with frozen mixed veggies I am set up for a few days.
yesterday I had two eggs for breakfast and a helping of the wings and mash for tea. Lovely! Thank you Mother for having the foresight to teach me how to cook and introducing me to good home made food.

I cooked veggies and mashed them with whey butter and roasted the chicken wings and veggies. Breakfast was a tin of baked beans and two fried eggs. Tea was half mashed veggies and half roasted wings. I am still liking the roast wings. (Funny how I have fleeting favourites....)

A small helping of Wings and mash for breakfast and a larger one for tea. I reflected that there will be others as well fed as I am but I doubt if any of them are better off. Let's hear it for home cooking of natural ingredients!

Homemade ( of course) Chicken Burgers tonight. I steamed a Chicken Breast this afternoon, sliced it thinly and will add Lettuce, Mayo, Sliced Tomato and Sliced Cheese into a Hamburger Bun. Served with thin chips cooked in the air-fryer.
No deprivation here.

Why should I when it is perfectly good? If things were as bad as you suggest I would be having food poisoning regularly. The fact is I don't so who is right?
Yesterday I had a veggie lattice pie and two custards (donated by Kath) for breakfast and for tea the last of the wings and veggies with battered onion rings and a steak pudding dropped on top.
