I finished the sausage by using for breakfast and tea with baked beans and cabbage and sprouts I cooked in the morning. The mutton got defatted and deboned later, it will come on song today.

Mutton and peas with sprouts and cabbage X two for breakfast and tea. I cooked carrots and swede and mashed them. They will come into play today!

Mutton and veggies X two for breakfast and tea. I cooked spicy chicken wings in a casserole with onions and tomato. That will come on song today.

I had some of my butcher Nathan's meat balls in a home-made tomato, garlic, onion and basil sauce with spaghetti and Parmesan. :smile:

Spicy wings and veggies again today. Must shop for veggies today...
Lots to be said for tomatoes, onions, olive oil and spices cooked slowly together have a lot going for them whatever the accompaniment.

I have raided the freezer for tea tonight and recovered a home made meat and potato pie from a batch I made last week. I will have it with mushy peas and gravy.

Down to the last bit of loaf so I will be baking bread today. :smile:

Bread turned out OK, two Chia and Sunflower seed loaves, one for the freezer and the other ready for lunch which will be home made lentil and tomato soup. :smile:

Got some shin of beef from the butcher today (cost about fourpence). Had a small pot of biryani sauce left over from a takeaway and a pot of gravy in the freezer, all went in the pressure cooker for half an hour and 'dinged' some green beans and peas in the microwave, washed it down with a Chilean Cab Sav. Lovely.
Sliced up a Navel orange for pudding.

Shin beef is good Kev, 'the nearer the bone, the sweeter the meat'.
I had sausage and beans for breakfast. I cooked veggies later so Sausage and veggies for tea.

Looks good enough to eat Kev. I had a steak pudding with veggies and as it was raining, instead of going for a walk I cooked Best beef mince with onions and tomatoes very slowly and had some with veggies for tea. Superb!

Exactly the same as yesterday. I am blessed in that I don't get bored with the same meals repeated. I reckon it's down to rationing during the war. We learned to be grateful for what appeared in front of us.

Mince and onions with the last of the veggies for breakfast. I cooked veggies and had the same for tea but with the new batch of carrots, parsnips and cabbage.

Two small pork pies for breakfast followed later by a snack of roll mop herrings because I fancied them! Back to the last of the minced beef and onions with veggies for tea.
During the afternoon I cooked the last of the mutton chops in the slow cooker. The gravy has been in the fridge all night to separate the fat, the chops are ready for deboning.....

The mutton is now cooked, reinforced by tomatoes and peas and is sat in the fridge. Breakfast was a steak pudding with veggies and tea was the same.
