Being very kind to myself after yesterday's BCG infusion. I feel fine, no side effects at all but I am aware that my immune system is on Red Alert and working hard to manufacture antibodies.... My reaction to this is to do very little at all, eat well and drink lots of water. I'm very good at doing nothing if the circumstances dictate!

Its a sewing morning, and hair appointment this afternoon. My jacket is cut out and the appropriate sewing techniques practised so I am all set to go.

I didn’t do much yesterday after yoga in the morning. I decided not to go out again as the snow kept coming in short sharp storms and I didn’t fancy getting stuck in Bacup if I went to the hospice shop. As it happened the snow subsided in the afternoon. My cold I have decided is another sort of viral infection rather than a cold. I have a dry cough and hardly any voice and kept going hot and cold during the afternoon. Another good reason to stay in I thought. I shall see how I feel before pilates this evening.

Maz, I never forget to use bleach! I use it routinely, never mind the present circumstances! My sink and lavatory are above reproach.

Vaguely thinking about the shed but I have a full day tomorrow so it might be best to use my head and have another lazy day looking after myself..... I feel fine but don't want to rock the boat!

My throat still hurts but the voice is better. Its art this morning followed by writing this afternoon. I may not go to yoga, its a very energetic class and I am not sure I have the energy.

I had a productive sewing day yesterday remedying some of the construction issues of my jacket. I should be able to progress a bit this weekend.

I would dearly love to do some sewing, but with a numb right foot/calf/thigh, I couldn't operate the pedal just now. I have three projects planned but the fabric just has to sit for now. Bending forward to cut things out wouldn't be good for me either.
I did dead head a few flowers today. With temperature reaching a scorching 47 C yesterday, every flower I had in the garden has died.
I also oven roasted a pan of Mediterranean Veg this morning - partly to clean out the fridge for shopping tomorrow - and to make a Mediterranean Veg/Feta Tart for dinner tonight. The veg are cooling now and smell divine. I shall make the tart this afternoon.

47C is a bit too hot for us Maz, we'd need dead-heading as well!
M is taking me to visit my old Boss Richard and his family at Waddington this morning. I haven't seen any of them for 25 years..... Looking forward to it!

Art today followed by lunch out with friends. The sore throat is easing and my voice is back.....some may not be happy about that :laugh5: . I did not go to yoga last night as after a hectic day of art and creative writing I was pretty tired. Itwas a quiet evening in, in front of the TV and the fire

My machine can be operated with an ON OFF switch instead of a foot pedal, but I prefer using the foot pedal as I feel I have more control

Recovering from my trip out yesterday!
Avoiding extra effort, I am still aware that I am under attack from the BCG virus, not serious but definitely worth watching! Entirely supportable.

Carrying on with my policy of doing as little as possible, only the essentials like my walks and household tasks. Good for my reading but bad for the shed! I am very aware that my body is working hard making new antibodies and fighting the intruding live virus. I am not stinting my grub either. Time for cutting back is when I have finished the treatment!

I shall be nursing a sore knee. I slipped or tripped in a muddy gateway and landed knee first on a large stone. My cosy insulated trousers and thick tights protected me from skin damage but by bedtime I had a lump the size of half an apple under my knee.

I don't think any serious damage has been done, it is below the knee joint and I can move my leg as normal....it just hurts!

Nevertheless a dangerous place to damage near a joint Wendy, treat it with respect and I hope you recover quickly. Keep out of the cold today......

I feel the urge to get back in the shed but I am resisting. I have my second BCG treatment tomorrow and am waiting to see if the reaction to it is any worse, I am told that it can be. I'm not expecting there to be any problem but best to err on the safe side and be 100% rested when I go in. It's working well in that I am getting a lot of reading done!
One thing I am quietly doing is gradually building up my stocks in the food cupboards and non-perishables. Call me pessimistic if you like but if by any chance there are any shortages I shall be fine. My mother trained me well and I always have adequate stocks but am going slightly further than usual. It doesn't cost any more in the long run and better safe than sorry!

Swimming first thing, french this afternoon, art club tonight ( a meeting of friends in the absence of a new teacher). I will probably plod on with my jacket after swimming. Its coming along nicely. The sleeves are done and the back. Today I will tackle the fronts. I still have to make the pattern pieces for the collar and try them out on my toile. Progress is good, I like the effect of all the bound seams (Hong Kong finish to the sewers amongst you)

Thanks Marilyn. Its coming along nicely, only facings and collar to do and then sew in the sleeves. I found some striped buttons on line and they are a perfect match.

How is your back?

The second BCG infusion yesterday was a breeze. Despite the fact that this is the one that tends to produce the after effects if there are going to be any, absolutely no problems and no discomfort at all apart from the significant moment when the catheter goes in! My immune system must be in excellent condition! Nevertheless I shall be very careful and do nothing beyond the essentials, I can see a lot of sitting quietly and reading......

Good idea Stanley. Take it easy. I suppose you have snow so take care if you venture outside. My activities today are cancelled and as my jacket is finished as far as I can go before my next meeting with Maxine ( next Wednesday) I may tackle something else or even just give my self a skills session on my machine.
