Big cooking day, chicken and veggies. Breakfast was sausage and egg, lunch and tea were chicken and veggies. I reported yesterday that I had forgotten the carrots, I am not feeling deprived yet!

The last of the chicken and veggies for breakfast. A surprise gift of a samosa by Gulam at Chaudrey's for lunch as I sat on the bench at the end of Albert Road in the sun. (Very nice!) And Haddock, mushy peas and a small quantity of sweet potato chips for tea.

The remainder of my sweet potato chips with eggs for breakfast and then a forbidden treat for tea, a pizza. Yes, I know, back-sliding, I shall do better from here on into the week.

Much in the press today about people trading down and buying cheaper grocery items. Pilchards (Ugh . . ) and Spam are mentioned.

My diet has been a bit ad hoc recently and I've just had three days of Corned Beef Hash - made with half a tin of corned beef and some vegetables. Surprisingly tasty. Eat your heart out Jack Monroe - cost probably less than 75p per meal.

Re - Spam . Here's a 'spam off' from the Bald Foody Guy the master of junk food. I'll vouch for his findings here. There is virtually no difference.

I'll agree, lots to be said for a good corned beef hash......
I shall have a chicken delivered today and will roast it tomorrow in the small oven together with hot and spicy wings . onions and sweet peppers. Costs about £7 for the chicken because it's fresh and local.

Chicken and veggies for breakfast. I cooked veggies and had fresh veggies for a light lunch and tea with the very last of the chicken and veggies. Clean start this morning...... Just how I like it.

Couple of small slices of spicy meat pizza, rocket, tomato, mozzarella, olives, 3 cheese coleslaw and a glass of Malbec. A pint of tea and a 20g bar of 85% cocoa solids chocolate to finish. That'll do :good:

I had two beefburgers with eggs and fried tomatoes for breakfast. Roasted my chicken and had chicken and veggies for tea.
Two things I have noted, the Brussels Sprouts are back on the shelves, Xmas must be coming. The Cox's apples are here and superb flavour

Chicken and veggies X three.
I never bother about cost as I know I am doing the best I can for the least money but I did a quick reckon up and I feed myself for below £2 a meal on average. I don't think that's too bad....
