Couldn't say. If there wasn't a card it would print a record of the time and work number on an internal roll of paper I should think.
See THIS Wendy. It identifies the machine in your pic as an IBM clock and says the cards were inside the machine.....

This one was made in Leeds. I still can't grasp how it works! :scratchhead:
I think there is a similar one at Queen Street Mill, I will have to go and study it in detail once the mill re-opens.

I can see that the slider mechanism and the rotary disc round the clock face allow the pointer to be plugged into a numbered location hole on the outer scale. Internally the 'clock' must allow the time and pin position to register the event. Pressing the pin itself may register this action therefore no need for any other buttons.

There aren't individual time cards then, the time and number register on an internal card? Ah, getting there slowly !

What an engineer sprinkles on his breakfast cereal to make sure he gets enough iron in his diet.

Nice one Tom! Ian has it but not corner fasteners, they replace the brads that used to be used for holding the backing sheet in place by driving them into the frame.

Quite a prominent building with recent extensions. Most people think its in Burnley but actually its Brierfield.
A local man who we all know by name built it. So by giving all these clues please answer in depth.

Is it "The Oaks" on Colne Rd, Reedley, built as a private house by Abraham Altham founder of Althams Tours?

Spot on Gloria. Originally Oakleigh but now the 'Oaks'. Buried in Haggate Baptists. A little write up from the Lancashire Telegraph.Link.. I found it rather strange that most of the Baptists Chapels which carried is name on the foundation stones were very plain buildings with little or no decorations yet his house was full of carvings and stained glass windows. And why a little devil over the door?

You would think he liked to keep everything of value to himself, probably not right.

He was quite a big philanthropist in his day. We can't knock him in this respect. It may have been that he just wanted quality artwork round him.
This is his stained glass window depicting the cotton trade.

On the last Bancroft open day they had about four of these on exhibition. But since they weren't in boxes I don't suppose they really count. So if they don't count I can't tell you what they are. Does this make sense?
