Well, no one has said it isn't yet, and she looks as if she could be called Matilda.

Might that be the edge if a billabong in the foreground? If so you have nailed it. :biggrin2: :extrawink:

Sorry, nobody has it I found it in my archived pics and it's captioned Quandong Tree.

Wow - what an addition to my knowledge. I'm almost pleased that it's not a Koolabar.

Check it out Quandong Tree

A bit of skillful PR, and it could be the new 'wonder food' - kicking aside Chia seeds and Quinoa.

Well, it looks like it is of Japanese origin.

Don’t think so.

Just an observation from the foot of the image, Japanese flag and script?

Hadn't seen that. There was no reference to Japan about it, or where it was.
I'll leave it a bit longer before a add a clue.

Salt, pepper and soya sauce - and somewhere to rest your chopsticks on.

A recently discovered oriental board game with pieces that move by clockwork?

I took the photo in a museum in Stockholm, that's all you're getting for now.

Total guess. Looks like it could be something mechanical. Perhaps with pulleys fitted in the slots with wires pulling the figures along a slide like a very early clock or some kind of server. ????

Is it a sketch of something constructed of timber and part of an old boat or ship?

Found it in the Vasa Museum in Stockholm, a really interesting place. Both Tizer and Plaques have pretty much got it I think.

I think Plaques' mention of pulleys and Gloria's saying it was in Sweden must have triggered memories for me. We had a holiday in Sweden some time ago and went to Stockholm and the Vasa Museum. Although I don't remember that specific item it's the memory of the ship that did it for me. We hired a car and travelled around southern Sweden. The farthest north we went was Uppsala where Carl Linnaeus had worked when he established the binomial method of naming plants and animals. I also had colleagues at Lund University and we visited there at a different time and I had the pleasure of being the external examiner for one of the professor's PhD students. Their PhD exams are more rigorous than here and the student also has to face a lecture theatre full of academics who ask questions too. It's an intimidating experience!

I think you have been very generous Gloria. I was thinking of something much smaller than ships ropes. I would be happy with 4/10.

The Vasa Museum is a fascinating place, and when you stand behind the ship and look at the shape, it's no wonder it sank.

Not a mystery object, but thought it would interest some of you. From the Vasa museum, tool box and tools. Sorry for the reflection.
