He services it for me and gets it going but he would rather live in a jungle than do any gardening. He actually gets annoyed with me for not being able to start the darn thing. :furious3:

Lawn mowers can be very temperamental, a fault with small engines. Give me a big one any day! You're right about the grass, it's growing well in Barlick as well and as yet that East wind has left us alone so it's looking like an early spring.
That dress was quick Sue. I'd pay you well to make me a heavy cotton working shirt if you want a challenge! I can't get them heavy enough for me....
My nice lady patched my trousers, they are no longer draughty.
I have to write a reply to an email Uncle Bob has sent asking for an explanation of English hot water systems and Brexit. It will be a long reply........
Oh and some cooking the while.......

Thanks for the comments about the dress, it was a relatively easy make, 5 pieces and no zips or buttons as it is stretchy knit fabric. I have never made a mans shirt Stanley, its my next learning challenge after the shirt for me. Bob is the guinea pig here. I would love to take you up on the offer Stanley but I feel a little learning must take place first.

Where are you off to Wendy

I'm going to visit my brother & sister in law. They moved from York to a village near Ottery St Mary last year and I'm really looking forward to seeing them and the area. My niece lives in Exeter and is expecting her second child in three weeks so it will be good to see her and my great niece who I've only met once. Train from Skipton to Exeter all booked, back home on Thursday!

I love long train journeys Wendy, definitely the best way to travel especially if there is a dining car! I envy you.
The only variation to my normal routines today will be remembering to hand my prescription in at the surgery for repetition. That's the scale of excitement in my life these days! (Don't pity me, remember every day is brand new and I am on permanent holiday!)

Enjoy Wendy.

The dress went down well. Yesterday Erin arrived in leggings and a T shirt and left in her ‘unicorn power’ dress.

Hairdressers this morning french this afternoon and art this evening. Busy day. I think the statins are affecting my hair. I have always had thick strong hair, since November it has become lank and lifeless. I must have a word with my hairdresser see what he advises.

Crammed like sardines on a packed train and travelling backwards, not enjoyable! Currently somewhere between Derby and Birmingham, train travel ain't what it used to be!!

You may be interested to learn that here in the third world the seats are turned around when the train reaches the terminus so that passengers are always travelling forwards. Only on the new high speed trains, not the older type.

But look on the bright side, being in a seat which is facing backwards is the safest in the event of a rail crash......
First job is to look what happened in Brexminster yesterday, I went to bed early and was fast asleep before the news......

Doyou remember on the old trams when you reached your destination the conductor flipped all the seats over so you were always facing forward. I lived in Sheffield as a child and they had trams well into the 50s. I remember them well

Don’t bother Stanley! No change there then.

My multiple pilates and yoga sessions is about to change. They have changed their pricing structure and i can now only afford two a week. Not a happy Chappy.

Today is yoga followed by a leisurely ‘Christmas’ lunch with friends. Alan broke his leg and ankle last September and it has taken till early March for him to be mobile again. We postponed our Christmas meal to now. Looking forward to it.

I like the idea of a Xmas Dinner in April! Enjoy it.....
Funny how small jobs crop up and before you know it half the morning has gone! That's happening to ne this morning. It looks as though the shed has lost out.

And on an aircraft too. I flew to Singapore in 1963 facing backwards all the way. The military insisted on rear facing seats to be awarded the air trooping contract.

Mainly nothing. I deserve a day off today. Yesterday went well..... Missed my afternoon sleep so slept like a log last night. I always remember the poor people who can't fall asleep like that, it must be awful.

Travelling home today and hoping the train is a bit less packed and that I'm facing forwards! I should be back in Skipton by 3pm.

I hope you have a good journey Wendy. I meant to ask, is it a through train or do you have to change?

Through train from Leeds Stanley, it's a Cross-country train running between Edinburgh and Plymouth. There is one every hour. It used to be 6 coaches with tables and space to stretch your legs but now it's just 4 coaches all with aeroplane type seating.

That sounds good but wouldn't it be memorable if it had a full dining service..... I love eating on trains!

I don't think they do that anymore! There is a coffee trolley comes round blocking the aisle! On the train now and heading backwards in the direction of Bristol. It's not as busy today....yet.

Good, I was thinking about you....
Lots of small things cropped up yesterday, funny how being retired can be so demanding!
Shopping day today, must make more of an effort to get in the shed....

I'm beginning to think you are avoiding that shed. Perhaps it is a bit too much for you just now. Once you are 100% back on your feet, you will be back in there and enjoying yourself.
I will be the same in regard to using my new sewing machine and riding my new bike.
