Tunstead Farm

Post by Wendyf »

I was walking along Long Lane between Earby & Kelbrook, saw Tunstead and thought of Cloggy. I took the photo on my rather ancient mobile, so it's not very good I'm afraid.

Bit of old fashioned haymaking going on? A rare sight these days and a bad season.

 Old fashioned haymaking brings back a lot of memories. Dad getting up at half past three to harness the horses and start mowing. Big pot jars of dandelion and burdock and sarsaspirella. Huge boiled ham sandwiches. Working up to midnight to get it all in, because tomorrow rain is forecast. Thanks wendy, I think I can see the hawthorn tree I mentioned in my PM on the far right of your photo. Brilliant stuff!
cheers,
cloggy
