Thanks for that Wendy. Its 39 in Melbourne today and 40+ for the next four days. It was 35 by 10 am this morning. I've covered up all the new little trees with sheets in an attempt to help them survive the temperature. Northern hemisphere trees don't fair so well in our temperatures.

42/43 C for us today and hotter tomorrow I believe. Not that I have checked any updates since hearing that this morning, but I can tell you it is sizzling out there and every time I wander past the kitchen sink I have had a glass of water. Had a cold bath not long ago and feel much revived, having worked up quite a sweat cleaning the room son has now vacated. Nice to have a guest bedroom again, but I am not making the bed up in case it attracts visitors. I'm a bit "over" having house guests for a while! ( besides, I want to have the doona dry cleaned)

We have reached 45 C...and a thunderstorm is brewing. It won't cool us down, but it makes for an interesting afternoon.

19C in the kitchen, close to freezing outside. Very refreshing..... Trees are fine.

Thanks for your photo Wendy, much appreciated. During our unexpected thunderstorm today I went outside, stood in the rain and breathed it all in. The temporary relief was bliss.

We must be sisters...I did the same thing!
Then I reflected on the number of people dying from being struck by lightening lately, and rolled up my kite with the key hanging off it and came inside.
Sitting here dabbing with a wet face washer now. Very tropical at present. I feel another cold bath looming.

Beautiful photo of the happy couple Stanley. My friend was married in Kings Park, probably in the same spot. Lucky for us it was only about 30C then. It's a fantastic place.

I noticed the plinth as well. Kings Park is a good place, Janet got married there to her first husband Harry who was killed in a plane crash at Jandakot ten years ago....

Its not a bad place to live....

I saw Wendy's sunset. I was taking a computer back to Colne on Thursday as the sun was going down and it was beautiful going out of Barlick on the new road. Barlick was covered in thick grey cloud but the sky was clear in the west and the setting sun was shining on the hillsides.
